Just up the road
Re: Just up the road
She's come a long way since Silence of the Lambs though...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: Just up the road
She isn't doing too well at the flood business.
Saint Anna has it all over the PM.
Julia needs to look a little less botoxed and a little more worn.
She needs to not be 'dressed up', but in shirtsleeves and looking like she is helping.
We have had King Wally and the ex-PM Kev07 moving furniture and belongings for others and assisting with actual cleaning. Julia needs to look more like she is doing more than smiling.

Re: Just up the road
Further up the road and over in Sri Lanka the floods have been more horrific.
Here is a baby elephant no more.

Thats to sad.
PS If you close your eyes whilst listening to Julia Gillard she sounds like Kath from Kath and Kim is running the country!

Re: Just up the road
OMG, I know.
And just like Kath and Kim, she has a definite "use-by" date.
I think we are seeing it come.
Disasters make or break a pollie.
I realise that you, Sean and Aardy have a lot to be bitter towards Anna about. However, as a representative goes, you will have to accept she is doing her utmost to inform and support the State as well as inform the country.
My Chief Min, Jon Stanhope, got his ray of sunshine when he dived into a dam to rescue a helicopter pilot that was trying to reload with water for a fire. It has given him 10 years in power.

Re: Just up the road
Now Anna was on the screen every 2 hours giving us news and tryinbg to give the state the imformation we needed.
You could see it in her eyes she was touched by the stories about families lost and the bravery of people helping others.
Julia stood beside her and every time something good was mentioned Julia would get that pigin smile and if it was bad she would knod with a look of consern.
It was discusting watching Anna slowly lose her composure and Gillard all but smiling about it.
As you said a disaster will make or break a pollie I hope it is the breaking of Gilard

Re: Just up the road
It sound like you are talking about a private sewer system. I am not an expert in this subject, but I would be more concerned methane gas build up, but that should not be a problem if the system is well ventilated. Check with your locales because systems can vary from place to place. In the States private sewer plants are ventilated at both the tank and the roof of the house. In septic tanks, generally ventilation is provided through the roof of the house. Gas might be trapped if a septic tank is flooded. Check with a local Plumber.SisterMaryFellatio wrote:Urgh hope you stay high and dry Aardy!
We are to high up to get flooded out, which is great but whatever the coast gets because we live in the rainforest we get double the amount! Driving down the mountain is not fun - one of the roads is closed due to a landslide (friggin greenies won't let them fix it to stop it happening). The creeks burst so we have to go the long way around. I know i sound like whinging but I am thankful we have our home (unlike many Qlders with this godawful weather)
I have sorted toys and books for flood victims just need to tackle the airing cupboard for towels, doona covers and sheets!
Oh and does anyone know anything about Bio Cycles? Our water alarm has been on for 3 days and am scared that the bloody thing will overflow and a turd will merrily float down the road to a neighbours house!
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

The consensus from the little political people in the ACT is ... it is.

Re: Just up the road
It appears it is Victoria's turn to be flooded now.
I have been working with a chap from Dalby Qld this week.
When I told him that the Yarra had broken its banks yesterday he said, "The Best thing about NSW is that is keeps Victoria further away from Queensland."
Spoken like a true Queenslander.

All is good thanks Liberty....they came yesterday to sort it! I did laugh at the build up of methane! I still love fart humour! With a son like mine there would be more methane in the house!
Re: Just up the road

The picture of the weekAs Ipswich residents return home to scenes of flooded households, one couple came home to a more peculiar sight — a cow perched on their neighbour's rooftop.

Smart cow!

Very carefully...?

In all earnest, I am so happy that you and yours are ok Aardy and Sean. And I am truly saddened by the loss of life there.
I do not mean to make light of the tragedy unfolding. You have my best wishes and prayers. Just wishes for Sean whom does not believe in a higher power. All the best just the same.

Thanks Tim, much appreciated mate.
