I believe that may be the only Clint Eastwood movie I've never seen...Bridges of Madison County

Blech. Never seen it, or read the book.Big RR wrote:Thanks Jim, I was pretty sure you had seen it.
Bill--I recalled the Pia Zadora clue from some sort of trivia game as well.
As for your clue, it's a chick flick based on a chick book, and I think AMC has it right. Indeed, if the roles of husband and wife were reversed, and the husband experienced and did what the wife did, I'd bet that many of the women who loved this movie would hate it.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Re: Name That Movie!
I sat through the movie (and once was more than enough), but never read the book (and never will). But it was popular; it even got Meryl Streep a number of nominations including one for the Oscar for best actress in a leading role.

Here is the new clue:

Nice to see you back in the groove Ray, so that would be a no; same with the other funsters.

Do not speak to me of rules. This is war! This is not a game of cricket!
Re: Name That Movie!
A long weekend is here for me so someone needs to get this one so I can ramble/stumble without agonizing that I cannot fulfill my obligation. This movie title shares an attribute with the prior one. And is similarly very well known. While it was issued in the late 1950's, when it was shown as a rerun on network TV in the 60's, young boys insufferably whistled the theme song for the next several days. And another quote:
I hate the British! You are defeated but you have no shame. You are stubborn but you have no pride. You endure but you have no courage.
Re: Name That Movie!
Someone will get it soon, Long run...
I have already given the order...
This flick is one of my all time favorites...
If nobody gets it tonight, I'll take it tomorrow morning, and if you would like to pre-approve that I have the correct answer, (which from the second line of this post, I'm pretty sure you can tell that I do...
) I'll go ahead with a new clue without your having to check-in to verify that I have the answer right...

Re: Name That Movie!
Doesn’t this classic movie have an iconic and totally awesome theme song?

Yes but I had to cheat - that opening quote is something I never would’ve associated with this movie! Watched it a few times with my father and brother, but don’t recall the dialogue all that well.
