Speaking of sexual assault and harassment, this is the latest on my dentist who I had an appointment with only two weeks ago. Fortunately, I have no story to retell at #Me Too. Maybe I'm just not his "type."

I truly like the guy, he has always been personable and fair, and now I'm torn. (Especially having a 27 year old daughter and a dentist who I now wouldn't want to ever be around and/or make an appointment with.) He is one of the few better rated dentists in my region who accepts my "less than standard" Cigna Medicare dental plan.

OK, here's a poser or two -- if he somehow manages to avoid jail time and is able to keep his license should I keep my March '18 appointment, or find a replacement? Is he now a horrible human being beyond redemption, or should I view him kind of like Bill Clinton and give him a pass, and hope he has learned a valuable life lesson?

In my lifetime I have known people who have done similar, and worse, yet today they are respectable and honest and you'd never suspect they have a checkered past. Is this the type of behavior that deserves a second chance, or does it qualify for lifelong contempt?

So they masked his name, but then listed his age, his real first name, his profession, and where the alleged offense occurred and when.
Given that much information it would take me less than five minutes to come up with his real name.

And even before this has gone to trial RayThom has already determined the man is guilty — "if he somehow manages to avoid jail time and is able to keep his license" — and poses a question about whether the doctor is qualified (or more to the point, if he is worthy) to continue to serve as his dentist.

Now you know what I meant about having one's reputation sullied and dragged through the mud regardless of the outcome.

Does anyone here think that bill learned any lesson? the guy thinks he did absolutely nothing wrong, and he was enabled by many women who came to defense saying it wasn't his fault (Hillary blamed it on a right wing conspiracy) or the woman from NOW who said she'd gladly "strap on the kneepads" for him. And for many, many others it was blame the victim. This guy is a complete jerk in that department, and I doubt he has any remorse or has changed one bit.

Criminal arrests and charges are a matter of public record. Should we start making exceptions for accused sex offenders? Or do you want to seal all criminal records so the public can be oblivious about the monsters among us?

I don’t dispute that an accusation of ANY serious crime will alter a person’s life generally for the worse, and there are ways to alter the system to minimize that phenomena.

But I don’t recall you jumping up to defend folks charged but not yet tried for other kinds of crimes, just in defense of sex offenders.

Do you believe a large percentage of such allegations are unfounded?
