In the UK, snowflakeism runs amok....

Post by Gob »

Labour MP Harriet Harman has told BBC News that the string of allegations of sexual abuse and harassment against MPs is not a witch hunt. She said: "There are a lot of men saying this has been blown out of all proportion, it's a witch hunt. No, it's not a witch hunt, it's long overdue."
I'm surprised at Harperson being so sexist! Surely she should say; "It's not a non-specific-gendered natural magic practitioner hunt."
International Trade Minister Mark Garnier is reported to have asked his then-secretary to buy sex toys and called her “sugar t--s”. A Cabinet Office investigation is underway.

MP Charlie Elphicke "The party tipped off the press before telling me of my suspension. "I am not aware of what the alleged claims are and deny any wrongdoing."

Suspended Labour MP Kelvin Hopkins has said he "absolutely and categorically" denies claims of sexual harassment. Labour activist Ava Etemadzadeh, 27, earlier told the BBC that Mr Hopkins had hugged her inappropriately after a student event in 2014.

Theresa May has ordered an investigation into allegations that her deputy, Damian Green, made inappropriate advances to a female activist in the last two years.

Ex-Conwy Labour MP Betty Williams, who served from 1997 to 2010, has claimed that a Conservative MP grabbed her breast at a reception. She says another Tory MP in a separate incident “put his hand on my knee and squeezed”.

Labour MP Clive Lewis has "completely" denied an allegation that he groped a woman at the party's annual conference. The former shadow defence secretary is alleged by the woman to have hugged her and squeezed her bottom at a conference event in Brighton in September.

It certainly smacks of a "non-specific-gendered natural magic practitioner hunt" to me.

Ok, grabbing a handful of anyone's bum is bang out of order, (if proved,)* but "hugging"?

I kissed a male mate of mine**, on the (face) cheek, NYE a few years back. Can he now sue me?

This is a honeytrapper's dream, isn't it? Get a person of the right gender to come on to a slightly inebriated politician that you don't like. Give the polly the idea that they are well in, then get the "victim" to run screaming to the press that the polly hugged them or put their hand on their thigh.

* and if uninvited, natch.

Your succinct and erudite dismantling of the points raised is a credit to you.
