Someone just gave the Welcome to Toronto sign a hilarious update
Toronto film makers were extremely proud of the recent Oscar wins for The Shape of Water.
The film, which was nominated for thirteen awards, won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score, and Best Production Design.
Canada’s own Paul Austerberry, Jeffrey A. Melvin, and Shane Vieau won an Oscar for best production design for their work on the movie, which was filmed in Toronto and Hamilton and had a largely Canadian crew.
The award-winning movie was also produced by Toronto producer J. Miles Dale.
So when the movie became the biggest winner of the night, Toronto reacted accordingly.
Toronto script writer Emily Andras tweeted, “We made That Fish Sex Movie – our new city motto.” And of course, hilarity ensued.
A day after Andras’ tweet, Dan Seljak delivered what we have all been waiting for.
The city’s new motto, on a sign.
No word on whether or not the City of Toronto will be endorsing the new motto.

You can't beat Canadian humor.
I'm sure that's a photoshopped image. The slogan sign wouldn't be so chipped and worn after only a few months.

Or maybe whoever hung it intentionally 'distressed' it ... like the jeans with the holes already in them (and the guy who first figured out that you can make those and the s⃥u⃥c⃥k⃥e⃥r⃥s⃥ people will line up to pay money for them was a true marketing genius).

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I suppose it beats the city slogan under the previous mayor:
Welcome To
TORONTO
Where What Happens In A Drunken Stupor Stays In A Drunken Stupor!

Well, it's snappier than "Toronto: City of Pescophilia Fetishists."
GAH!
