Just stumbled on this pretty decent psychological thriller on Netflix; has a 73% fresh rating on RT, so critics agree it's worth a look. I was entertained - it's not so much scary as it is gripping. For fans of the genre, it's worth a look, I think.

Re: Oculus
I can't play any videos at work, but is this a movie or a show? I recall a movie a few years back dealing with a (possibly) haunted mirror and its effect on a family; it was set at two separate times--when the kids were younger and then when they grew and were investigating what happened. If it's that film, I agree it's worth a watch; if not and it's a show, does it deal with a similar plot?
Re: Oculus
That’s the one Big RR; it’s been out a few years but I just stumbled on it. I’m glad to be in such good company in liking it.

I agree; it was a lot of fun to watch and I join in your recommendation. It's not really a horror film (at least by contemporary standards), more like the older haunting movies when you were never certain what was going on. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Re: Oculus
I also want to thank you for reminding me about this flick, BSG...
I had meant to see it when it first came out, not just because I like the genre, but also because it stars Karen Gillan, the Scottish actress who I liked as "The Companion" Amy Pond in Dr. Who...
She hasn't gotten a whole lot of work since she left the series, and I was curious to see how she would perform in a more dramatically demanding role...

Re: Oculus
She's wonderful, IMHO. One of the best things about the film are the very fine performances by the kids and their adult versions - relative unknowns and fine actors, critical to the film which is really all about characterization as there are really no monsters or typical scares.
The cast also includes one of your favorites from Longmire - Katee Sackhoff. Her role isn't a lot of screen time, but it's compelling.
