It's Alive... It's Alive...

Post by RayThom »

I have a feeling the good doctor is in the process of fitting the Daughter of Frankenstein with a set of nice, new, neck electrodes. I see the surgical team just waiting for that magical bolt of lightning to strike over Chappaqua Castle.

As I read it, there is just enough denial and evasiveness in her recent interviews to give her true political gravitas.

She's persisting.

:loon Well, what the hell, Trump is still campaigning against her...

Look, I get it, Ray, that you think Hillary is an evil person and that you think things would be even worse if she had been elected POTUS. But I just can't imagine any specific things she was likely to do that actually would have been worse than what we got with Trump.

But the attachment is about Chelsea, not Hillary.

Oh, yeah, "Daughter of Frankenstein"...nothing at all said or implied about Hillary there. The fact that Chelsea Clinton lives in Manhattan, not Chappaqua, makes it even clearer that the post had nothing to do with Hillary... ;)

I never said Hillary would have been a worse figurehead had she been elected. But face it, Drumpf would have never gone away, and Clinton would have been jammed up with her own dealings with a special counsel and assorted illegal campaign activities.

For the longest time I was frustrated by her shady dealings and duplicitous behavior, but when I eventually read about her secret takeover of the DNC -- which was fully under the control of her own election campaign -- well, that just made my disdain for her even deeper. Bernie Sanders didn't have a chance -- the system was, indeed, rigged. Between Lord Dampnut, and Her Majesty the Queen, our entire democratic political system was co-opted. I couldn't vote for either one, nor did I vote for Bernie as much as I wanted to do so. As a good Democrat, even I saw that as being too divisive.

As for Chelsea the Wonder Child, with Bill & Hill for parents, I can't imagine her having a much better moral compass. Once she runs for some office or another -- and you know she will -- she better shift into overdrive to prove to me that she's not been genetically tainted by what came before.

As Drumpf always say, "we will wait and see and then when we see we'll know for sure and then we can figure out if we're sure. I don't know but anything can happen."

Tell you what, Ray.  Let's throw Trump out of office in 2020 (or sooner, if we can figure out some way to do it) and vote Hillary in, if she decides to run again.  Then — quoting, I presume, the current Twatter in Chief —
"we will wait and see and then when we see we'll know for sure and then we can figure out if we're sure."
we can find out if Trump and his bloviatings — which I personally consider to be 5% substance and 95% misdirection on a level equaled only by David Copperfield — go away or not and whether Hillary then undergoes the same scrutiny as Drumpf is facing currently.
"I don't know but anything can happen."
(BTW, in terms of allegations, indictments, and guilty pleas, what's the line score in Trump's collusion investigation these days vs Hillary's email and Benghazi enquiries?)

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

That's an impossible "IF," thank God. It would be the end of the Democratic Party if Cruella de Vil were to reascend to power once again. And don't think for one second that I'm the only one out there who believes this to be true.

Besides... as bad as Drumpf has proven to be, we have equal, or more, to worry about with Mike Pence. Everybody that's wishing for Lord Dampnut's impeachment should reconsider. (The devil we know...) Pence is an extreme, evangelical christian, opportunist, who has conversations with Jesus on a daily basis. Tell me that's not scary as shit.

So now Pence is denying reports that he is positioning himself to run for president in 2020, and even talking with Nikki Haley as his running mate. (A slight to Haley, IMHO.) Regardless, if Pence steps in to fill a Drumpf void we should expect the worst to happen -- nothing good will come of it.

I disagree; as bad as pence would likely be, I do not think he's a big a jerk as Trump and that the damage he could do would even approach what Trump could do. Nothing good will come of it, certainly; but nothing as bad would happen either. And, happily, his association with Trump should prevent any chance of his being elected in 2020.

How is that possible pence couldn’t even have a private meeting with Haley.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

If only that were true.

As George Carlin often said, "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Post-Trumpian politics will never be like anything that came before him. I fear populist authoritarianism may be here to stay.

The Revolution will probably be televised. Great ratings for sure.

Kenye West / Ted Nugent... 2020.

Perhaps, but I'd fear it more if we had a more skilled populist in the WH; while he has hung on to a part of his base, this guy is his own worst enemy and (hopefully) will sour people on other similar politicians.

As for Pence, if the people want a loud mothed populist, I don't see him as their choice. I don't see him as being dynamic or able to whip up a crowd at all; he's more on issues (the wrong side of them IMHO) than rhetoric.

As for Kanye and Ted, I couldn't even imagine them in the same room.
