Re: Definitely No Great Loss...

All over the internet are Trump supporters shrieking that people compare him to an orangutan, so how is it not ok to compare a black woman to an ape?!?!
Well now there's a surprise...

Trump supporters are as ignorant of history as Trump himself...

Here's another shockaroo...

Fearless Leader has now weighed in on the Roseanne racist tweets imbroglio, and has tried to make it...

Wait for it...

All about himself :o :o :o
Trump references Roseanne Barr controversy in tweet — but makes it all about him

President Trump weighed in Wednesday on the controversy surrounding Roseanne Barr's racist comments — and managed to make it about him.

Trump, rather than condemn Barr's comments, took umbrage with the fact that ABC executives reached out to Valerie Jarrett, the target of Barr's incendiary tweets.

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that 'ABC does not tolerate comments like those' made by Roseanne Barr," he tweeted. "Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn't get the call?"

It's not clear what "statements" made by ABC Trump is referring to in his tweet.

Isn't Iger the head of Disney? Does he have anything to do with ABC news (which is where I would imagine those "horrible" attacks on Trump occurred). Granted some involved his skin color (orange as it is), but if he wants an apology, shouldn't it come from the news division?

Ambien-maker to Roseanne: Racism is not a side effect of our drug
I don't know about the that...

The last time I took Ambien, I was overcome with a powerful urge to perform in a minstrel show...

Unfortunately, I'm not sure he's pretending...

Along with any regard for facts, another thing that a hardcore Trumpanzee is required to surrender is the ability to perceive the bleeding obvious...

And on the "Firing Roseanne Barr means that Samantha Bee should be fired for calling Ivanka Trump a feckless c*nt" file, I think that Sally Field says it best:
I like Samantha Bee a lot, but she is flat wrong to call Ivanka a cunt.

Cunts are powerful, beautiful, nurturing and honest.

And FWIW, if TBS wanted to fire Bee, I would say they can do what they want, much as ABC can (of course, if they did fire her, they should also be called out for the same hypocrisy ABC exhibited--who would expect anything different from Bee? It's kind of like complaining that Lenny Bruce cursed).

I agree.

Samantha Bee was one of TIME Magazine's most influential 100 people last year or the year before. I'd never heard of her, so I watched her show a few times. It was quickly apparent that she was not someone that I needed to influence me. She stands for a lot of things that I disagree with. I do tend to agree with her assessment of Ivanka, but would not have expressed it in that term. Not feckless, the other one.

That said, I think those who listen to her EXPECT to hear such things. I'll be surprised if her show is cancelled.

She holds Canadian citizenship by birth, and is a naturalized US citizen. Do you s'pose president Drumpf might have her deported for her free speech?

I think we are getting dangerously close to that point. Speaking for the President the other day, Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Bee's commentary should not be allowed on television. Using governmental office to ban or even limit speech based on its content is a frank violation of the First Amendment, and that's exactly where Trump has been headed with his attacks on the news media and calls for broadening libel laws. This guy is truly a menace to American values and constitutional norms.
GAH!

ABC is bringing back the show, minus Roseanne, tentatively titled ‘The Conners’.

Where do I pick up my prize?

The show's new plot-line picks up right after Roseanne is flattened by a cement truck driven by a home grown Islamic sympathizer at a Trump sponsored White Supremacist rally.

Hijinks ensue.
