Wild video shows Las Vegas police pursuit, shootout with suspects

Raw video: Body camera footage documents suspects firing 34 shots at officers along busy downtown streets.
In bodycam footage so stunning it could be mistaken for a Hollywood action flick, a Las Vegas Metro police officer chasing two men in an SUV is seen speeding through Sin City's downtown while simultaneously shooting out his car's front windshield and trading shots from his side window during a deadly gun battle.
The two suspects allegedly fled after a July 11 traffic stop conducted by cops investigating the murder of a man near a car wash, FOX5 Vegas reported.
The suspects traded more than 60 shots with police during the harrowing pursuit. The officer behind the wheel, William Umana, can be heard on video yelling “shots fired” multiple times. The chase ended when the suspects crashed into the wall of an elementary school.
Rene Nunez, 30, got out of the vehicle and tried to run upstairs into the school, but the door was locked, Las Vegas Metro police Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly said.
Fidel Miranda, 23, moved toward the passenger seat of the SUV and started to move it back toward the officer’s cruiser. Police fired on Miranda and he later died at the scene. Nunez, who was also wounded, was arrested and is facing several felony charges, including murder, police said.

Police said the suspects fired 34 rounds at the officers and Umana fired 31 shots at the men in the SUV.
The shooting “paints a picture of the dangers these officers dealt with that day,” Kelly said.
“In my opinion, they show a level of bravery, professionalism, heroics, that we come to expect of our officers,” Kelly said. “The officer could have backed off but he didn’t, he stuck with that individual knowing what type of individual he was dealing with.”
Nunez and Miranda both have a lengthy criminal past.
Nunez has been convicted three times and also has been arrested on robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery and grand larceny auto charges.
Miranda had previously been convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery and arrested for robbery, kidnapping, grand larceny auto, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and narcotics.

Sorry LJ I like it. It is a good word. It is descriptive. The inner city blacks of the 1920s meant it to be a racial slur, but it turned out to be good word. Honkey refers to the honker, the nose, something all Caucasian have in common. I don’t mind being a honkey.

I couldn’t find it but I found this for you:

honkey
racist name for a white person, but be careful when using this word because he will act brave until you slap the shit out of the white sissy but then he will call the police on you which are more honkeys but with guns.

I am talking about the Caucasian nose.
I still going use the word and it means what I say it means. I am going to use it every day. No one controls me.

"Honkey" seems to be a term used as a racist slur. It has been identified in this thread as marking beings with noses. I am thinking hard about this and I cannot think of any sub group of the human race that generally does not have noses.

I can only understand this as an example of the universal human skill at taking any word and by adding qualities of tone of voice and body language, using it to communicate (meanings mutually shared by sender and receiver) a sneering defamation.

One of my favorites comes from the colonial Philadelphia area among the followers of George Fox: "Thou art nothing but a you."

Not 1926 and nothing to do with noses. No noses in any of the competing ideas about the origin.

I stopped by one of the libraries on the way watched the entire video. What I saw was the cop start shooting through his windshield and after he hit the diver and the car was forced to side of the road he got out of his car and kept shooting. I thought the cops were supposed to let them go rather than shoot, can’t you guys be consistent. Are you guys waiting on Al Sharpton to give you instructions to criticize the cops
