Name That Movie!
Re: Name That Movie!
This isn't a tough one...
You don't have to be a Jessica Fletcher or Inspector Frank Luger to figure it out...

I really don't feel like coming up with another title+clues+retorts to Ray/Jim/Meade/Big RR/etc.
So...I'm gonna just sit this one out...
I'll be over here in the corner playing solitaire...

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Re: Name That Movie!
OK, let's put all the clues so far in one post and see if that helps:
First the quote:
First the quote:
And the clues:My dear girl, have you ever noticed that the human race is divided into two distinct and irreconcilable groups: those that walk into rooms and automatically turn television sets on, and those that walk into rooms and automatically turn them off. The trouble is that they end up marrying each other.
This is a classic flick; (based on a best selling novel of the same name) it was also the victim of a crap remake a few years ago...
Lord Jim wrote:I'm afraid I can only give you partial credit for that one, Big RR...[This isn't just a clue; it's a Big Fat Clue]The Candidate?
Big RR wrote:No, in this game it's all or nothing. Old blue eyes wouldn't have it any other way.
You don't have to be a Jessica Fletcher or Inspector Frank Luger to figure it out...
I'll be over here in the corner playing solitaire...
And here are three more quotes:Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy...
(Name Redacted) is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.
It's a terrible thing to hate your mother. But I didn't always hate her. When I was a child, I only kind of disliked her.
Surely, with all of that, somebody can get this...His brain has not only been washed, as they say... It has been dry cleaned.

Is it something about a man chewing a candied date?
(Tee hee; wesw's never heard of Ocean's 11; the Detective; Von Ryan's Express. Very sad he missed High Society - that's a brilliant movie movie)

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I feel a little guilty taking this one as I’ve never seen it and only have a rough idea of what it’s about.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Name That Movie!
This movie was a bit of a cultural phenomenon at the time of it’s release
Narrator: That morning, X saw the ugliest person he'd ever come across. She was as pale as something that had crawled out of a rotting log. Her hair was quite gruesome; long and stringy and white, as if she was very old. She was very big - you'd have to dig the whole day to find enough food to feed her.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Name That Movie!
CP, if this is the movie I think it is, the original dates back quite a while (the 70s I think), but it was remade under another name within the last 10 years or so. The quote sounds like it could be from either (or both) so a time frame might help.
As always, I'll refrain from a guess for the first day or so.
