A Very English Scandal is an excellent 3-episode telling of a reality-based scandal with a leading MP. You can find it on Amazon Prime. I'd never heard the story (it came to the fore in the 1970s), so it was interesting from a historical perspective too.

Thanks for the warning
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: English Scandal
A brilliant mini series, Hugh Grant is amazingly good in it, a real eye opener.
The funny coincidence is that I had read the book it was based on, a month prior, not knowing it was to be released.
Jim, you will love this one! (A shame Meade cannot allow himself to watch it.)

Same with me reading First Man. I didn’t know a movie was coming out until after I finished the book.Gob wrote:A brilliant mini series, Hugh Grant is amazingly good in it, a real eye opener.

I've got it on my list to watch...
I remember the story, I followed it as a teenager back in the 70s. ( A now defunct local DC paper, The Washington Star, did an in depth series of articles on it and had a reporter at the trial...)
There's nothing about it in the linked CNN story, but as I recall it was the killing of a dog that happened during the botched hit attempt that really outraged the public...

We do have differing notions of shame but as I was aroond 'n aboot for the start of this one, I can't be bothered now. John Hurt's work in the Naked Civil Servant was more interesting (and yes, I did watch it without being forced to do so). Now if Jeremy had starred in Priscilla, that might be worth a view!Gob wrote:A shame Meade cannot allow himself to watch it
