Just Do It
Re: Just Do It
None of the people complaining about Nike's labour practices today gave a flying shit about the issue until they put out that ad.

Re: Just Do It
Perhaps the more negative press Nike receives about their sweatshop labor practices might be a good thing?
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Re: Just Do It
If they deserve negative press about it they should get it. I just have no use for all of the hypocrites who never thought twice about it until they saw Colin Kaepernick's face in that ad. It's rather like all of those good Christians who suddenly decided, when Hillary Clinton was running for president, that presumably forgiving and deciding to stay married to a man who cheated on her made her a bad person.

Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

brown or black.

good shoes are more important than politics.
I might get a pair of nike air......
but really, who cares?
when I was in school my grandmother always took me to get shoes...... nikes mostly.....
...so it might effect their business. I don t care.

Re: Just Do It
In modern world it is hard to say just who really makes the shoe. Rockport is an old respected shoe company but recently:
Aug 15 bought by Bershire Partners and New Balance
Dec 17 sold to Crescent Capital
May 18 declared chapter 11 bankruptcy
Me, I wish I could still buy Bata Bikers, which used to be made just down the road from me in Maryland.

Rumor has it, that in Nike's next ad, Kaepernick is going to say, "Nike is more popular than Jesus."

Re: Just Do It
I was going to say I never thought that the protest was a big deal in terms of respect for the flag. After all, going down on a knee was at one time a way of showing submission to a sovereign when seeking or receiving a favor. But evidently some people think it is a big deal.RayThom wrote:I didn't.liberty wrote:I never thought the protest

But, boring boring borimg all is boring especially "greasy shit for brains", so predictable and stupid.
And buying brand names is so stupid. It is one of the reason that people who should have money are always broke. People can be so stupid with money. What is important about a pair of shoes is not the brand but how they wear and look. I have two brick houses, but I have never paid a single mortgage payment and some people will die before they pay off their mortgage.

Re: Just Do It
I went through two pairs of them myself back in the toe-clips-and-straps days. Avocet also had a good general-purpose touring-style shoe that was a great value for the money too.Burning Petard wrote:In modern world it is hard to say just who really makes the shoe. Then LOOK (the ski-binding company) adapted that technology for bike pedals and introduced the first commercially successful clipless pedals, and another bit of classic cycling equipment was condemned to be, forever after, 'retro'.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Here’s the very inspiring advertisement at the heart of the controversy - set to premiere during the NFL season opening games:
