You know what drives me crazy? It's all these people talking about how great technology is, and how it saves all this time. But, what good is saved time, if nobody uses it? If it just turns into more busy work. You never hear somebody say, "With the time I've saved by using my word processor, I'm gonna go to a Zen monastery and hang out". I mean, you never hear that.
Name That Movie!

Some fine guesses that show the hounds are on the prey, but no, no and no, no, and no. Next quote.

Re: Name That Movie!
Is it

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: Name That Movie!
Be like the star of this movie and be a patriot and swoop in like a bird of prey to grab it.
Re: Name That Movie!
Or be like Mr Frome and go sledding very quickly to find it.
Re: Name That Movie!
I'm sure the answer will dawn on someone eventually. Until then, another quote:
If there's any kind of magic in this world... it must be in the attempt of understanding someone, sharing something. I know it's almost impossible to succeed... but who cares, really? The answer must be in the attempt.
Re: Name That Movie!
Dawn of the Dead?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Name That Movie!
I could tell from the first quote that this was not likely to be a movie I had ever seen...
I'd be willing to bet there isn't a single decent explosion, shoot out, or car chase in the whole damn thing...

Re: Name That Movie!
All the guesses since the last answer are a no. Jim is correct in his "guess" about the lack of action scenes, though. Best pick up line?
J: Alright, alright. Think of it like this: jump ahead, ten, twenty years, okay, and you're married. Only your marriage doesn't have that same energy that it used to have, y'know. You start to blame your husband. You start to think about all those guys you've met in your life and what might have happened if you'd picked up with one of them, right? Well, I'm one of those guys. That's me y'know, so think of this as time travel, from then, to now, to find out what you're missing out on. See, what this really could be is a gigantic favor to both you and your future husband to find out that you're not missing out on anything. I'm just as big a loser as he is, totally unmotivated, totally boring, and, uh, you made the right choice, and you're really happy.

I probably won't get this one. Totally against my track record, of course. But I did find a picture of a youthful LR and friend watching this movie:

Not an answer to the question, but it does remind me of one of my old lines: "Just think of me as one toad closer to your handsome prince." Never worked. But I did get some laughs.Long Run wrote:All the guesses since the last answer are a no. Jim is correct in his "guess" about the lack of action scenes, though. Best pick up line?

That reminds me of the TV game show: "Wart's My Line"ex-khobar Andy wrote:... Not an answer to the question, but it does remind me of one of my old lines: "Just think of me as one toad closer to your handsome prince." Never worked. But I did get some laughs.

Gee, I find that shocking...it does remind me of one of my old lines: "Just think of me as one toad closer to your handsome prince." Never worked.

Re: Name That Movie!
The jokesters have it wrong, this is the kind of movie that has someone staying up all night. Next quote, which I don't think was based on A Good Enough Parent:
Everybody's parents fucked them up. Rich kids parents gave them too much. Poor kids, not enough. You know, too much attention, not enough attention. They either left them or they stuck around and taught them the wrong things.

I deserved a more honorable mention for a very clever clue!
