WTF is wrong with you? Why are you incapable of showing basic decency?
I sure hope you are only deeply socially inept and this is your pathetic attempt at sarcasm in showing the terrible conditions in which Native American people, to whom our government owes a sacred trust, are made to live.

So, I guess I'll have to take that as not celebrating this auspicious day, right?

Actually I do - I have numerous Native American friends on my FB feed from my time living on and adjacent to native reservations in Montana and was aware of the day.
Because of that experience living and working among Indians, I love and respect Native American people deeply and also feel deeply the pain of the broken promises and broken trust between our government and these people whose land we stole.
So, fuck you.

Exactly!
Our government stole their land and this is how they were treated. My OP addressed this injustice.
Native American Day... an annual "feel good" moment set aside for "celebration." There's surely nothing happy about it.

And if you weren’t such a fuckwad, it would be easier to tell when you are being sarcastic and when you are just being a dick.
But it doesn’t matter, because my solution is to just remove you from the conversation entirely, so you no longer have my audience.
The more I shut out the middle school level ‘humor’/mean boy shit, and the toxic masculinity, racism and hateful politics, the more enjoyable this place becomes.

I hope you and Sue U enjoy talking to each other, because sooner or later she's gonna be all you're left with around here. -"BB"-
Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
It's not surprising to me that I'm not the only person that BSG has called "fuckwad". In fact, it appears that the majority of us posting at Plan B now are current fuckwads and most others are former fuckwads. I don't recall specifically attacking BSG but I'm sure I did something that she considered fuckwadular to set her off.
Which reminds me, whatever happened to @meric@n woman?

Moi... a fuckwad? Surely you jest. If you're really serious, it is going to make me feel so horrible, inconsolable even. /s
I have a great idea. Let me know everything I can agree with you about and I bet I'll not sound so fuckwadish.
Anyway, if I didn't know better I'd say you have been going through an emotional crisis as of late and you're probably irritated by almost anyone you have contact with.
Keep in mind, "Laughter is the best medicine." Peace.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Probably NOT the best thing to say to someone who you suspect of going through an emotional crisis. I found that out the hard way a couple months ago with a now former long term friend. If you can't empathize, maybe you should just keep it to yourself instead of trying to mansplain your opinions of what someone else's problems are. If someone asks for an opinion, that's another story.
And yes, your original post was tactless and offensive. If it was meant to be sarcasm, it sure as hell wasn't funny. It's just pathetic that we need someone to tell us that (and by "we" I'm including myself), rather than us having the forethought to not post offensive crap.
Death is Nature's way of telling you to slow down.
Sarcasm, irony and satire are often confused. I took Ray's post to be a statement about how we (I use the term loosely) pay verbal homage to the original residents of this country and fail to back that up with action to improve living conditions. Of those three, the one it most clearly is not, is sarcasm. Sarcasm is usually defined as something designed to give pain, accompanied by a sneering tone of voice. To me it is on the irony - satire continuum, maybe closer to irony, because 'satire' usually (not always) connotes humor. Irony is the placement of a thought which is opposite to (or contradictory to) the apparent intention of the initial statement. Irony gets my vote. But then, speaking as a European, Americans just don't get irony.
Lately, and sadly, BSG seems to be picking fights with anyone who disagrees with her. There are so many varied opinions in these forums that I feel she'll be in an agitated and stressed out state within minutes of logging on.
IMHO, anyone taking themselves too seriously shouldn't be here. Regardless, in the final analysis what they perceive is their reality. And it's their right to perceive me as an asshole. (__!__)
