Ok, it would be wrong to contribute to this shiny object diversion discussion without first pointing out the complete ridiculousness and world class hypocrisy of a
Trump supporter having the brass-balled nerve to go into pearl clutching mode about
somebody else using over-the-line attacks...
There are some topics about which Trumpanzees, just by virtue of
being Trumpanzees lose any and all moral authority and/or the tiniest amount of credibility to point fingers at others, and this is one of them...
When you support the most dishonest President in US history, the most morally and financially corrupt President in US history, the most bullying President in US history, the most Constitution and rule-of-law undermining President in US history, the most race-baiting President in US history, the most fear and hate mongering President in US history, the most violence encouraging President in US history, and the most vulgar and oafish President in US history...
You have then earned the expectation to be treated with
complete scorn and derision any time you choose to try to criticize others for dishonesty, corruption, bullying, disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law, race baiting, fear and hate mongering, encouraging violence, or vulgar and oafish behavior...
By being a Trumpanzee, you make your moral and intellectual standing completely forfeit on all of those topics...
You have no right to expect to be taken even remotely seriously; if you genuinely cared about those things, you wouldn't be a Trumpanzee, you couldn't be, by definition...
You would do well to contemplate this injunction:
Matthew 7:5
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Ok, so all of
that having been said....
Here's a little more about this kerfuffle:
CNN is receiving backlash for a segment on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon in which commentators referred to Kanye West as 'the token negro of the Trump administration.'
Ahead of the rappers' visit to the White House Thursday, host Don Lemon asked a panel on his show Tuesday night if President Trump is 'using Kanye as a prop to win over black voters before the midterms.'
Political commentator Bakari Sellers, who is black, responded: 'Anti-intellectualism simply isn't cool. Kanye West is what happens when negros don't read,' he said referencing a Chris Rock stand-up routine from the 1990s.
Another commentator Tara Setmayer, who is also black, said: 'Now all of the sudden because he's put on a MAGA hat and he's an attention whore like the president, he's all of a sudden the model spokesperson. He's the token negro of the Trump administration.'

Setamayer is in fact a conservative, and a former Republican operative for whom I have expressed respect and support (which remains undiminished by this extremely minor incident...)
But I think she was wrong to use the language she used in this instance, (not the "attention whore" bit; that was
totally appropriate) and I think it was unfortunate...
And it's also a little puzzling given that as a high-profile black conservative, she has undoubtedly found herself to be the target of
exactly the same sort of characterizations...
There's a considerable history in this country of some on the left, (please note my use of the word "some") using that sort of racially derisive language to characterize African American conservatives and Republicans...
And a lot of the time, those Liberals who do this are
themselves African-Americans...
Well I remember when Harry Belafonte called Colin Powell ( an obviously far more substantive and accomplished person than Kanye West) a "house slave"...
And unlike a Trumpanzee I won't be a world-class hypocrite and criticize that without also criticizing someone on my side of the fence like Tara when she does it...
That sort of language should be out-of-bounds, and the fact that the Trumpanzees and of course Trump himself regularly engage in verbal race-tainted attacks that are
far worse, shouldn't make a difference either, because we should not use their pig sty standards as the bar for our own behavior...
