This sounds like something people in nearby Grover's Mill would say.

Grover's Mill is the wrong neighborhood. This movie is from the mid-80s.

Damn, then I guess that rules out this one:

BigRR is paddling up the right river, but in the wrong decade. Jim is color blind, which is a good thing I guess except at intersections.
I just met a wonderful new man. He's fictional but you can't have everything.

Most guesses are going for a color. How about this?

Ray, in his way, is closer than the last RR "guess".
Hey, open the champagne. I feel like getting plushed to the scuppers!
The lead actress and director had a long relationship that ended about as badly as any can short of physical harm.

Hey! ‘Hollywood’s most dysfunctional family’ was gonna be MY clue!

Seems like several people have the reel deal on this one, but I will throw out another:
I want what happened in the movie last week to happen this week; otherwise, what's life all about anyway?

HJ: Ah, the officer who risked his life by singlehandedly destroying...
Functionary: [whispering in his ear] Six.
HJ: *Six* enemy cannon and rescuing...
Functionary: Ten.
HJ: Ten of our men held captive by The Turk.
Heroic Officer: Yes, sir.
HJ: The officer about whom we've heard so much.
Heroic Officer: I suppose so, sir.
HJ: Always taking risks far beyond the call of duty.
Heroic Officer: I only did my best, sir.
HJ: Have him executed at once.
Soldier: Yes, sir. Come along.
HJ: This sort of behavior is demoralizing for the ordinary soldiers and citizens who are trying to lead normal, simple, unexceptional lives. I think things are difficult enough as it is without these emotional people rocking the boat.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Count Dracula? Duke Ellington? There's a peerage in there somewhere.
