Bad things come in 3s?
Bad things come in 3s?
Broke my ankle & foot couple days before New Year's Eve.
Cut the tip of my pinky off tonight with my new deadly sharp chef’s knife* - my first ever high quality kitchen knife, I guess I still wasn’t quite old enough to own one!
Wanna have bets on what’s up next?

Nope, I'm not going to guess. However, I suggest that you keep all electrical appliances away from any type of water source. No watching TV while in the bathtub soaking your foot.BoSoxGal wrote:... Wanna have bets on what’s up next?

Trump gets his wall?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Bad things come in 3s?
Why not consider your broken foot as Bad Thing One, and your broken ankle as Bad Thing Two, which would make your partial pinkyectomy Bad Thing Three, and now you're covered...

Re: Bad things come in 3s?
My advice is to get rid of the knife and buy a Bass-O-Matic.
Re: Bad things come in 3s?
Best wishes on getting back to normal soon. Sounds like a tough stretch.

That’s a great bit - nice to see it again!

Re: Bad things come in 3s?
ABSOLUTELY ! You do understand why you only need one--it goes on the hand that is NOT holding the tool. But the sharp knife works so much better. I keep all my kitchen knives sharp snuff to shave with. Learn to hold the knife with the index finger on the blade. Keep the fingers on the other hand curled, so the part closest to the knife is also higher than the cutting edge. I strongly recommend the book 'An Edge In The Kitchen' by Chad Ward. I shamefully admit I cut my self most often when using the curved edge "Ulu" knife for chopping stuff, and I keep the mandoline put away unless I am wearing that cut-proof glove. Nevertheless, I love the mandoline for slicing lots of tomatoes or cutting up lots of onions for a preparation to feed a big group.

That's OK for the finger and sharp objects, but wouldn't have done diddly-squat for the ankle and foot though.BoSoxGal wrote:I’m getting these:Jarlaxle wrote:May I suggest bubble wrap?

I echo Jarlaxle's suggestion about the bubble wrap.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Close inspection suggests the pictured application isn’t actually protective of feet & ankle bones.
