I see you all

Post by TPFKA@W »

are still being mean as hell to each other. Well done. Meanwhile I have been busy shopping. Hang on to your seats: I am a granny now. She just turned one last Friday. I could not talk the family into naming her Tripper. So Charlotte it is. I have shopped til I dropped finding every cute thing I can for this little stinkpot. You all are old enough to remember Eugene the Jeep. This kiddo is a Jeep. I am firmly convinced that she has teleportation powers. She has run my ass ragged. She is pretty cute for a child. :nana

I'm sure the experience of becoming a grand parent has turned you into a mellow old softie... 8-)

You should get Charlotte a puppy. They're great pets for 1 yr olds.

As an aside, it's good to know you're doing well, @W. I miss your insults and various other expressions of dislike for me.

Cheers!

It's Joe Blow! So have you not yet been incarcerated for stalking? How is life treating an old fart like you?

It's great to see you, @W, I have truly missed your wit, wisdom and witchiness. 8-) Please stick around -- or at least don't be a stranger. And happy grannyhood to you; now you have a new soul to introduce to your life of crime.

I was arrested for stalking but the case was dismissed. The judge said that the charges were dropped when they found you had made stalking allegations against 26 other people on the internet.

Aside from that, I'm doing okay for an old fart. I still feel like a young fart, so that's probably a good thing. I hope you stick around and post occasionally. I've chased almost everyone away from here so I'm forced to talk to myself a lot.

Husband is gleeful and says that it has. Clearly I need to toughen back up. I hate pink with a purple passion. Every article of clothing and virtually every toy I have purchased is pink. It looks like pepto bismol was poured over every corner of my once neat as a pin house. I have lost my equilibrium. The pink toys all make noise.
And then! Oh, the noise! Oh, the Noise! Noise! Noise! Noise!
That's one thing he hated! The NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE!
Presently it is quiet here, ahhhhh.

They clearly don't understand you the way I do or they would have thrown away the key.

I feel so left out. I don't know you @W. I am an old refugee from Cafe Dartre, and the Outhouse. Many of the same posters are now here. Inspite of the insults and nastiness, I don't find much from obvious trolls. And that is fine by me. I like spirited disagreement and do not comprehend much of the 'sensitivity' about overt male chauvinism. [hey we are called pigs because we act like pigs. Why are your surprised? Still I like reading the views of genders other than my own.]

But being a new grandparent, I can cheer and cheer. It is a wonderful relationship. My youngest is now showing teen-ager conflicts at 16 and my oldest is 24 and still not employed. But I love every minute I have with them.

The Little Old Lady From Pasadena
The Beach Boys

The Little Old Lady From Pasadena
(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)
Has a pretty little flowerbed of white gardenias;
(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)
But parked in a rickety old garage,
There's a brand new shiny super stocked Dodge.
And ev'rybody's sayin' that there's nobody meaner than
The Little Old Lady From Pasadena.
She drives real fast and she drives real hard,
She's the terror of Colorado Boulevard.
It's The Little Old Lady From Pasadena!
If you see her on the strip, don't try to choose her,
(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)
You might have a go-er, but you'll never lose her;
(Go Granny, go, Granny, go, Granny, go)
She's gonna get a ticket now, sooner or later,
'Cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator.
And ev'rybody's…

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

rubato

Hearty congratulations on finally sleeping with a grandpa. (Margaretta says it's very far from all she expected). Enjoy the little one - may there be many more and don't forget in a few years to buy the drum set. And to teach the car-travel lyrics: "I know a song that get's on everybody's nerves".

Welcome return to the snake-pit....
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Technically a step-granny. I like to think of myself as an evil step-granny and frequently say things to her like, "when you are older, granny will give you an apple". Evil step-granny things like that. I plan to mold her in my own image, with as warped a sense of humor as I can help her develop. She has an older half sister who is 5. They were dining at our house last week, step-step granddaughter was sitting next to me and suddenly I noted her socks were lying on the table next to my silverware. Her poor mother was horrified. I picked up the socks and asked her if they were hers. Yes, she admitted. Why did you take them off I asked. "My feets gotta do things".
It is a long road ahead.

Ah! indeed feets DO gotta do things. It's part of grandparenting to encourage such tendencies toward anarchy. Let the parents worry about socialization.

It is a long road ahead, but as grandfatherly Cronkite was paid to say "filled with events that alter and illuminate our times.' And also provide lots of joy.

Meade: (Margaretta says it's very far from all she expected).
Meade - I am horrified by the positioning of that full stop (=period). Are you quite well?

And we won't even talk about the errant apostrophe which has wandered into the quotation with which you end your post. There - that's me not talking about it.

I was concerned, too - is that Meade, or an imposter?! :o

Welcome back @w, & congratulations on being a step-granny!

(Hopefully the experience will help you to have more patience with me when I screw up. ;) )
