Who said that?

Post by Sean »

Alright.

Without searching can anybody guess which CSB poster once described which other CSB poster thus:
...no coward, no fool and a fine adversary. He was a good writer, I would welcome more of his caliber.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

No Crackpot, that would be Gwen writing about Lord Jim.

A wonderful irony. About as wonder filled as the obliviousness to the irony of my response at the time.

Thanks for that trip down memory lane Sean. You muckraker you. :D

What was your response at the time, Timster?

I could tell you bigskygal, but out of it's proper context it would be meaningless.

And at the time it had absolutely nothing to do with Jim.

I was masking a passive aggressive barb with a wink and a "Siglet".

She also wrote in that [dis]missive:
Some of you appear to think that it is perfectly okay to lie, change the subject, attack others, call them names ("anti-American" and "unpatriotic" are insults), but heaven forfend anyone call you on it! Calling you on your behavior is "hostile"!

It doesn't work that way in the big city, boys and girls.

Side-swipes, innuendo, implications and suggestive put-downs are insults, too, you know. What I often see happening is that sort of tactic employed by some of our weaker writers, who then react with outrage and anger when they are called on the carpet for it.

There is no shame in having the weaker argument. There is shame in defending it with dishonest, attack-the-messenger, blow-a-smokescreen tactics.
Being a Huge fan of 'Irony'; I am simply positive that she would find her own words delicious.

Hey! I saw a movie where a cricket bat could kill zombies just as well as gun...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is
