Utah Beach, Normandy, June 6 1944. My 20 year old Dad, in LCT 2302 (the white one in the middle of the pic) delivered 238 Engineering Combat Battalion (ECB) Company C. WE know they left from Brixham (Devon, SW England) on June 5th.
I know I have posted this before, but it bears repeating.
Great photo, thanks for sharing. What an amazing thing those men and women accomplished.
“I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg, paraphrasing Sarah Moore Grimké
The men (and women) who came of age between, say, 1935 and 1950 EARNED the right to be called "The Greatest Generation", and I'll have no truck with anyone who says otherwise. -"BB"-
