A town hall event hosted by Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a turn for the bizarre on October 3 when a woman speaking from the floor urged the eating of babies as a necessary step in the fight against climate change.

“We only have a few months left,” the woman said, continuing: “I love that you support the green deal, but it’s not getting rid of fossil fuel, it’s not going to solve the problem fast enough. A Swedish professor [said] we can eat dead people but that’s not fast enough. So I think your next campaign slogan has to be this: ‘We got to start eating babies!’ We don’t have enough time! LaRouche PAC, a far-right group that supports Donald Trump, has taken credit for trolling Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during a town hall meeting yesterday.  An operative with LaRouche made headlines overnight after standing up at AOC’s town hall in Queens yesterday and saying that humanity should eat babies, among other ridiculous things, to address the climate crisis.

Political theater at its finest.  Watch the clip and see how she only takes off her coat once she starts speaking and gets to the point about "the slogan" in order to reveal the printed T-shirt underneath.
I 'm also inclined to suspect that the broken, accented, and erratic English by the speaker was a put-on as well.
The only part that surprised me was that the other people in the room didn't immediately drown her out with laughter when she made that comment.

Back to the top of this thread--what about all the restaurants I see around here proudly calling themselves Italian, or Indian, or Chinese, or Mexican? Is not this even more racist than the ethnic aisles of the grocery store?

Doesn't eating nothing mean the same as not eating? If so, in the context of this discussion, saying eating nothing should be acceptable. A guy might say I'd rather do nothing than go over there. Should he leave out the do? Then again, maybe I know nothing about correct word usage.
