Trump has finally admitted misusing money from his 'charity' - the Donald J Trump Foundation - and running campaign fundraisers disguised as charitable events. He and his immediate family (DJ Jr, Eric and Ivanka) have to undergo training and employ independent directors if they ever want to run a charity again. He has to cough up $2 million in 'damages' (i.e., a fine) plus $1.7 million of the 'charity's' assets.

Of course, according to CNN, the Trumps are painting this as a victory. ""We are pleased that the Court, in rejecting the Attorney General's frivolous request for statutory penalties, interest and other damages, recognized that every penny ever raised by the Trump Foundation has gone to help those most in need," said attorneys for the foundation, Alan Futerfas and Marc Mukasey. "Now that this matter is concluded, the Trump Foundation is proud to make this additional contribution."

Is there a point at which the judge can say: No! That wasn't the fucking deal. You get to avoid going to jail by paying these fines and slinking off with your tails between your collective fucking legs. So either revise that statement or the deal is dead and we proceed with the prosecution.

I'd like to think that a judge can do that.
