Well, Queen Elizabeth did pretty well but the Spaniards and other furriners may not agree. So Margaret Thatcher is forgiven; Indira Gandhi did a cracking job; Golda Meier is cool again; Aung San Suu Ky has managed to stop all those Rohingya persecutions by waving the magic Nobel Prize; Evita Peron, come back, all is forgiven; Winnie Mandela would have been a wow if she hadn't upped and died; Victoria painted everything pink (but Liz II isn't really a "ruler"); Ranavalona, Madagascar tourist board wishes she was still on top; that raving success, Cleo was cool in Egypt; Aquino, Bhutto... so many who may be better than Barry and me but who knows?“Women, I just want you to know, you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us,” Obama reportedly said Monday. “I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on Earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything."
Seriously, is the statement, "you're better than us" a form of condescension? Or is it seen as complimentary (which is how it is intended, no doubt)? What is it that women would do if every nation was run by 'em for two years?
Might not play well in North Korea. And is it damaging to Biden et al that Obama also stated that old white men should step aside (both parties) and let a woman run the show in the USA? Which Republican woman do we think he had in mind? Which Democrat?
