May all your dreams come true. Except that one you don't tell anyone about
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Joyeux Noël

BAH! HUMBUG!

FYI: Boris Johnson played Scrooge this year in a command performance of "A Brexit Carol" at Royal Albert Hall.

BloJo adapted John Lennon's "So This Is Christmas" for one of his scenes:

So this is Brexit
And what have I done
Another year older
And it has yet begun

And so this is Brexit
You better have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Brexit
May it pass in the new year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any tear

And so this is Brexit
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor one
The EU was so wrong

And so happy Brexit
For some black and most white
Maybe yellow and red one
Let's stop all the fight

A very Merry Brexit
May it pass in the new year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Brexit
And what have I done
Another year older
And it has yet begun

And so happy Brexit
You better have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Brexit
May it pass in the new year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

Vote is over, if you want it
Vote is over now
la, la, ah, ah
Happy Brexit
Happy Brexit (happy Brexit)
Happy Brexit (happy Brexit)

Merry Christmas to all here!

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Be sure to hit the Striezelmarket -- much to enjoy this time of year. A shopper's paradise.

The Streizelmarkt is only one of the several Christmas markets in Dresden, and we’ve been to all of them! Such fun, very special, and social. Along with shopping there is much eating of brats (I had a wild boar/venison combo today) and multiple kinds of gluhwein. Nothing warms you on a cold grey German day like hot wine and spice (except maybe a hot spicy swede 8-) ).

Bavaria tomorrow, then St. Moritz with more friends, to round out our holiday experience!

Merry Christmas to my cyber-active family. Be sure to look under your tree, near your menorah or next to that window where a Xmas tree should be, for my gift to you. This year it isn't something you can play with. It's not even something you can see. It is strength, hope and faith to get you through at least 20 more years. After that, it is renewable.

Wonderful Guin. Hope you enjoyed the Dresdener Stollen. In many ways the Deutsch taught us Americans how to celebrate Christmas..

(But WE taught them how to eat fried chicken.)

Been to Dresden once - or rather I didn't. Got within about 30 feet. December 1998 IIRC - Lufthansa captain prepared to land in very snowy conditions - you could almost hear him say Fuck this! We're going to Leipzig! as he pulled back on the stick. So we were dropped off at Leipzig at 11 at night and I had to find my way to my hotel in Karl Marx Stadt. Of course this was in the days before GPS and smart phones and all the maps I had carefully printed off the web which showed me how to get to KMS from Dresden were pretty useless. Europecar in Dresden weren't expecting me but I phoned them and they could remotely open a key box so I could take a car from their garage but no maps. My German was always pretty ropey.

There is nothing more likely to get the heart racing than finding your way around a strange country where you don't know the language, you don't have a map, and it's dark and snowing. I miss those days. I made my meeting the next day.

And Joyeux Noel and Fröhliche Weihnachten to all!
