Big hoo-hah a couple of days ago when this happened: calls to boycott Macdonald's etc.
It seems that the cop himself wrote this on the cup as a 'joke.'
I'm pretty sure that there would have been a lawsuit against McD and they would have been forced to defend it and maybe pay out $$$$ and fire the low paid server.
The cop gets to resign and go home. WTF?? He of all people should know that you can't do that.

My guess? The officer is a white guy and feels he was dissed by a black counter associate.
Yeah, I'm a cynic, but I feel there are a lot of cops out there who will fabricate anything to make it seem like the tough job they do doesn't gets enough respect, from counter service to "broken tail light" stops. Just another asshole, bad apple, who should have never been issued a badge in the first place.
The police culture needs to change.

Of course this has been all over the local news. I'm rather surprised it went national. His chief seemed royally pissed over it on TV, and his Kansas state law enforcement officer's license has been revoked. I guess he'll have to move to PA.
