I won’t start worrying until GM stats acting reasonable.

c/p

Just read in the news that the "Big Three" are going to close down during the COVID-19 fiasco.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

FWIW:

Safeway stores will reserve the first opening hours for Seasoned Citizens like me.

Now I can stroll thru the aisles and load up on hand sanitizer, water, and tp.

So there!

Yeah I read that too. Which means most suppliers will be following along soon. Meanwhile dates haven’t changed on the stuff i’m working on yet they cut my hours (working at home on a much slower connection) to 40 hours by orders of the regional president. So we will have to start missing dates and getting our customers mad at us to this policy to change.

If we don't hear from you, can we eat your cat?
Fair enough, since the cat would return the favor.

Supposedly doing that at a number of stores here, but the younger people are paying it no mind what so ever and barging on in with the store management doing nothing about it.

Iceland are doing it over here, I wonder if I qualify?
Starting tomorrow, one branch of a popular British supermarket chain, Iceland, will set aside an hour each morning between 8 and 9 a.m. for senior shoppers only.

A bunch of our larger chains doing it. 60 and over.

I hope only those seniors who are frail will take advantage of this. My husband is 66 and certainly is of age for it, but he is strong as a bull and healthy. If I could walk I certainly would not be taking advantage.

Next time I have to go shopping I plan to roll my IV pole along side of me.

That should equalize the COVID-19 stockpiling playing field for this senior.

While I qualify at the lower end of the spectrum of early shoppers (and have no other factors of particular concern), so long as there are goods on the shelves and I can get around freely, I will leave to extra time/space for the people who really need it; happily, I can still queue up with the rest of them later. Of course, if circumstances change, all bets are off.

I was at Trader Joe's this morning soon after they opened. Like a normal day except a few things were out - toilet paper for example and that semi sparkling Pinot Grigio I like. Fresh vegetables, meat, milk, eggs etc all abundant.

While digging around in the basement I found an old camera with a film inside. I had no idea of when we bought it and of course the batteries were long dead. Luckily there is a camera shop opposite TJ's - they got the film out for me and sent it off for developing. (If any of our younger readers need me to explain what 'film' and 'develop' mean, a brief summary can be provided at additional cost. PayPal accepted.)

Judging from our daughter they are 20 years ago. I of course am as handsome as ever. People we haven't seen for 20 years. Just a lovely surprise.

HA!  If I were to see that, I would most likely make a conscious decision that
1) he can't move that fast dragging that along with him, so I know I can get to the good stuff before he does, and
2) if it does come down to a shoving match for the last package of toilet paper, he won't be able to put up much of a fight.

Just a note about my original post in this thread regarding grocery delivery and pickup from Safeway. Today there are no dates available for either choice.

In the meantime, I found a single roll of paper towels in stock at Amazon for $82.00.

I hope the seller gets COVID-19 and one of his lungs pops.

I still can’t get chicken. I’m going to have to venture out to an actual grocery store today. You may not eat my cat if I don’t come back.

Send the cat. The cat comes back.
