Extortion emails

Post by TPFKA@W »

Anyone else getting a rash of these? I have gotten 4 in a period of 2 weeks. Different names and styles, generally saying the same things with some variations. They have my password, (out of 30 or so different passwords I have use of, they got one over a decade old I have not used in years) tracked me for using porn, claim to have gotten my contact list and made a video on my computer of me masturbating (or doing some such naughty, it is not clear). They flatter my taste in porn, (admittedly hubby and I watch us some good porn so they are right on that count). They state that unless I pay anywhere from $350 to $1900 in bit coin they will forward the embarrassing video to my work colleagues, friends, family, my (deceased) parents and various other contacts. I can't wait. My boss would laugh her ass off and most of my relatives would be amused as heck to learn this old couple still gets their freak on. (No such video exists but if one did it would be hilarious.)

Anyone else?

Just between you, me, and the lamppost, I think you can safely deep-six this.  I've gotten a couple of variants on this — supposedly wanting to talk to me about my NationsBank credit card which had allegedly been used to access child porn, or some such thing as that, and threatening to turn their information in to the 'authorities' if I did not respond.  Since I did not and have never had a NationsBank credit card I immediately recognized this as a phishing trip to try to get me to either divulge personal information or pay 'hush money', and deleted it from the inbox.  Never heard another thing about it.

I suggest you do the same thing.

I've never received an email like that. The first thing I would do if I were you is to quit masturbating in front of your computer.

Joe, I think you should quit masturbating in front of her computer, even if you're not her...

I wish you would quit masturbating in front of my computer, it's awfully sticky there now.

I didn't actually ask for suggestions on how to handle it, but thanks for the mansplaining of how to deal with it. You can always be counted on that sort of response.

I got one or two of them maybe a couple of years back. They had taken control of my webcam, they knew what porn I was watching while I was jerking off to it, etc. I sent an email back telling them to go ahead and release what they had, hopefully it would audition me to get into porn as a second career.

Pardon me for my concern.  If you were so sure that it was bogus, as I was with mine, you would have done the same thing I did — deleted it and never mentioned it.  But since you decided to air it out here, I thought you were wondering whether or not this was legit and if there was any substance to the extortion threats.  Who knows; maybe you *do* sit at your keyboard with one hand on your mouse and the other on your pussy, and were concerned that someone *had* actually gotten video of such activity, so I responded appropriately. ... only to be accused of "mansplaining".

I haven't had any of those particular emails, mine have always been the common or garden Nigerian prince type emails. I always reply and see what I can sucker them into doing for me. :)
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

The simplest solution would be for you to cancel your subscription to my porn channel. I really don’t need your money anymore.

Hey Sean! Do you come here often?

S'matter of fact, I did get one of those. Said they'd commandeered my camera (even when I thought it was off) and they'd caught me using the F word in a draft reply to rubato. I deleted both

I wish we could gather all the scum that produce this shit into one big barn, then drop a bomb on it. (Oh, and film it as a warning to others.)

Please don't ever concern yourself again. You need not. Just bugger off. You are one of the most toxic and completely offensive males I have encountered on the net. Bugger bugger bugger off. :fu

I already did when I saw the preview of you and the Zebra. You went too far.

I think she may have been more concerned of the hurt that the zebra might have done to your innards.

The zebra probably caused less trauma than his head has all these years.
