What's-his-name gets a modification of his name
Grimes, the mononymous Canadian singer, and her 'partner'/sperm donor, Tesla founder Elon Musk, have announced that X Æ A-12 Musk has received a change of name. The new name replaces the Arabic numeral '12' with its Roman numeral equivalent — Xii (and yes, they are using the lower-case 'I') — so this poor kid's moniker is now 'X Æ A-Xii'. The reason for the change, according to an explanation given by the singer, was "Roman numerals. Looks better tbh."
It is presumed that the pronunciation of the name, as confirmed by the couple — "Ex Ash A Twelve", or "Ash" for short — remains the same ... although the nickname "Hash" may be more accurate, as these two must have been on something and flying higher than one of those "A-12" planes Musk referred to when they first announced the unusual name.
And in another example of "seriously, you couldn't make this shit up if you tried!", she has also confirmed that Gowon, member of South Korean girl-group 'Loona', will be the godmother of X Æ A-Xii. Given the name of the group along with the name of the child, that seems only too appropriate.
