I took a photo of myself with my iPhone. It's pretty scary. You can tell by the lines on my forehead that I'm in deep thought, as usual. I have no idea why I'm posting this. It might have some odd connection to Lord Jim's passing.

Yannow Joe - - You're not the only one here mourning the loss of our dear friend.

I think many posters here feel his loss and addition to all the other shyt that's been going on - -I think many here are on edge.

This includes me.

I think we can best honor Lord Jim's memory by remembering all he stood for,

I'm going to dig out my black velvet image of Ronald Reagan and display it proudly in my living room.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

That’s the spirit, Dale! It’s funny but for years I’ve not been able to think of Reagan without being reminded of Jim. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does that. And you’re right about people here being on edge. These are strange days indeed.

Seeing some of the folks here who I’ve only seen in my mind’s eye is revelatory - had the same experience friending folks on Facebook.

Knowing what some look like in real life versus the image that they attempt to project here is also revelatory - and sometimes a great source of amusement. (You know who you are.)

Joe looks similar to what I envisioned (if he didn't have the beard), Ray a bit different.

But we can now just load pictures as an attachment, instead of the cumbersome posting on a public site and linking?

I was in my garage and I don't look like Richard Dreyfus. I'm not surprised by RayThom's face. It's kinda how I pictured him.

Not sure what you are getting at, LR. I'll post a random image below - actually it's my father's landing craft LCT2302 on Utah beach, June 1944.

What do you see - or rather what don't you see? Do you have to click on something? When I do 'Preview' I just see an image and some text: nothing more, nothing less. When Photobucket went pay only, I moved to Imgur. I'm sure I pay for it with clicks in some way but it appears to be free.

Yes. You can now use the "Attachments" tab below but the tab only shows when you're in "Full Editor & Preview" mode.
