I've wondered (ha!) why it was female superheroes always had to display as much flesh as possible. Let's set aside the fact that most comic costumes these days, look like they're painted on, and clearly hint at nipple bumps. (and a bra? I dunno how those boobs are defying gravity?) Their spanex is nearly always low-cut, or strapless; and women are usually pantless and/or bare legged.

...but, back to Wonder Woman. I see they've brought back the 'Eagle' emblem. If you didn't already know it, DC changed that to a WW for marketing purposes;

The old Eagle was giving them fits to copyright, since it looked so Federal;

I see this new eagle has a star to try and get around that ...but no it looks Soviet.

oh well, they can't complain about that now. :D

Linda Carter's legs are better to show than that top version's ridiculously large (and most likely fake) boobs.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

I agree entirely, bsg.

The boobs are definitely fake, and the whole costume reeks of circus horse rider to me.

I miss the inclusion of the stars as well. I understand they were trying to 'globalise' the character, but I always found the 'stars and stripes' to be integral to her persona.

Male superheroes, of course, never present stereotyped images. Every boy will grow up looking like GI Joe.

About the pants.... the wonder is that she can go to the bathroom.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

It's hard to tell from that picture, but a bigger one shows that she has stars on the sides of her "pants".

It does look like a pseudo cavalry uniform, but i was never a big fan of Wonder Woman. The legend says her original outfit of stars and stripe was an Amazon custom of tribute to the ally, they went to aid . Supposedly, it is a form of armor, with the emblem being a sort of chest plate ... yea right. Good try, but who goes off to battle wearing a one piece swimsuit? A woman that big, couldn't even go for jog, without busting out all over; let alone kick any serious ass!

At least, some of the time they get to wear pants.

TGFT!

I will need to reconsider my pant-hatred then.

Though I am still not convinced.

Boots should have red trim on top.

Pants should be slightly darker blue.

Headband/tiara/whatever the fuck it's called should be slightly larger and should pull her hair back.

You mean like this?

Here's the new Jim Lee comic version costume, that this live version is based on;

Straczynski, who calls the new look cooked up by DC Comics co-publisher and artist Jim Lee "the first significant change in her appearance since the character debuted in 1941" (not counting the mod look used briefly in the '60s, about which the less said the better), obviously thinks so. As he explains it:

It reflects her origins in both the outside world and the world of Amazons: tough, elegant ... a street-fighter's look which also incorporates elements of her classic design. It reflects the two sides warring for ultimate victory, and underscores the path she must take.

It's a look designed to be taken seriously as a warrior, in partial answer to the many female fans over the years who've asked, "how does she fight in that thing without all her parts falling out?") She can close it up to pass unnoticed ... open it for the freedom to fight...lose the jacket or keep it on...it has pockets (the other fan question, "where does she carry anything in that outfit?", it can be accessorized ... it's a Wonder Woman look designed for the 21st century. The bracelets are still there, but made more colorful, tied on the inside and over the hand, with a script W on each of them that form WW when she holds them side by side ... and if you get hit by one of them, it leaves a W mark. This is a Wonder Woman who signs her work...letting her enemies know that she's getting closer.

Although her hair has less volume, it's not too shabby and finally her tatas have found a brasserie.

So, the television costume is something in between the old and the new comic versions... like I said I never followed Wonder Woman much, except for her animated adventures with the Justice League;

This some serious ass-whoopin', Linda Carter could never do this- some awesome fighting skills, not just flying around and throwing things at people.

...Also, she's still in her classic regalia, which made me realize why I'm not yet fond of the new 'street fighter' WW. They say it's too make her a more stealthy warrior ... but Diana was and always will be: A Royal Princess of the Amazons, she's supposed to be flashy and regal! She wears a Tiara for Hera's sake, with her traveling clothes.

Back home, she wears the full battle armor like this:

Cover of Wonder Woman #173.

So, donning a denim jacket and jeans, isn't just a change of clothes, but a whole change of character. I really wonder if DC can pull that off?

That one is terrible...she looks more like a villian than Wonder Woman.
