Dear President-Elect Joe Biden,
Congratulations on your election win.
We know right now as you approach your first term, you'll have a lot on your plate. From tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, to coming up with a plan for Climate Change. But as tens of thousands of people across the UK, we wanted to talk to you about plans for trade deals between our two countries.
Over the last four years, we've been working to prevent our NHS being put at risk and our food and animal welfare standards sacrificed as part of a trade deal with President Trump.
With your election, we see a chance for a reset. A chance for our countries to work together for a trade deal that benefits both of us. British people believe that no trade deal should give corporations more power than people. No trade deal should threaten our NHS - the institution British people are most proud of. And no trade deal should see a weakening of the standards that make sure the food we feed our families is safe, healthy, and ethically sourced.
So, as you plan your first term, and as part of that start thinking about trade deals you might strike, we're asking you to please work to negotiate a deal with our government that will lift both countries up.
Yours Sincerely,
Thousands of members of the British public

You might have a while to wait; a deal with the EU and finding a way back into the Trans Pacific Partnership are going to be higher priorities.

On the bright side, it looks like there could be a deal with Canada modelled on CETA in place before the end of the year.

Lose the beard, Justin. You look as if you're going for the Ted Cruz new look.

I disagree; while he is definitely handsome clean shaven, he rocks that facial hair.
He’s a yummy chunk of maple walnut fudge no matter how he grooms.
On second thought, I found this 2011 photo of Trudeau with a Van Dyke variant that is a total turnoff. So there is a facial hair line in the sand.

I'm wondering if, now you have a relatively sane, if possibly borderline senile, Pres, we've got more of a chance of getting better food and animal welfare standards agreed for trade.

Perhaps, but then Congress may have to get involved as well (not sure what authority was given to the president, my guess is Congress will have to vote any agreement up or down), so all bets are off, at least for the time being.
