People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Exclusive! Letter to Biden in full!

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I have a friend and former colleague from Russia. In their system you only become a "doctor" after a PhD and then mentoring four more people to achieve PhDs.
A "professor" is generally someone who is either tenured or a tenure-track faculty member. All else are lecturers.

"adjunct professor" is a nice way of saying "not really a professor or anything close but the poor dears are so damn touchy".
Give them some cake and they'll stop moaning and whinging like the social failures they are.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spoken to Joe Biden for the first time since the new US president was inaugurated.
Mr Johnson said on Twitter that he looked forward to "deepening the longstanding alliance" between the UK and the US as they drove a "green and sustainable recovery from Covid-19".
The PM said their inauguration was a "step forward" for the US.
A Downing Street spokesman said Mr Johnson "warmly welcomed" the president's decision to rejoin the Paris Agreement on climate change and the World Health Organization - both abandoned by Mr Biden's predecessor, Donald Trump.
"The prime minister praised President Biden's early action on tackling climate change and commitment to reach net zero by 2050," the spokesman said.
The spokesman added that, in building on the two nations' "long history of cooperation in security and defence, the leaders "re-committed to the Nato alliance and our shared values in promoting human rights and protecting democracy".
The two leaders also talked about "the benefits of a potential free trade deal" between the UK and the US, with Mr Johnson reiterating his intention "to resolve existing trade issues as soon as possible".

I can't believe some of the stuff I read. What are the chances that fate would play out like that?

About the same as the chances of any porno "plot" coming true IRL. This is MAGA porn.
GAH!

I have to believe that after the onscreen horror Americans witnessed on January 6, they will be mobilized even more than in ‘18 and ‘20 when they show up in ‘22 to push America further toward the future and away from the MAGA cult. I think the folks calling themselves Republicans these days face a choice that will make or destroy the rest of their careers. Where to stand?

Re: Trump's Grand Finale....
Trump is going to be too busy fighting off various other lawsuits to be able to run for anything except his miserable life.
The Republicans would do well to remember the quote attributed to Admiral Yamamoto of Japan following the attack on Pearl Harbor:
"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
Trump's aging and elderly, over-weight, pick-up driving nitwits with their flags and their posters and their 'let's play soldier!' costumes and their AR-15 poodle-shooters notwithstanding.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

They were wrong about the firefighter who supposedly hit people with a fire extinguisher. That's where innate prejudice fed by the media (social) took the discussion. Some will always believe the mistaken ID.BoSoxGal wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:46 pmI have to believe that after the onscreen horror Americans witnessed on January 6, they will be mobilized even more than in ‘18 and ‘20 when they show up in ‘22 to push America further toward the future and away from the MAGA cult. No they weren’t wrong - a retired Chester Fire Department member was arrested and charged for throwing a fire extinguisher at Capitol police and thereby assaulting them.Darren wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 2:16 pmThey were wrong about the firefighter who supposedly hit people with a fire extinguisher. During the course of an investigation people are routinely wrongly identified and swiftly cleared, as in this case. The ten minutes of misidentification suffered by the retired Chicago fireman whose name doesn’t now even come up in the first few dozens of returns when googling ‘CFD cap fireman Capitol attack’ is a necessary evil to have suffered in the process of millions of citizens assisting the FBI in catching the scum who assaulted and killed Capitol police and desecrated the Capitol.
Stop trying to create some huge conspiracy or injury from this. The evidence happened before our own eyes and there are hundreds if not thousands of pieces of authentic video that captured the crimes, and hundreds of on the ground witnesses. You and your cult friends can try to spin it however you like, but prison is coming for a great many of you. And we the people won’t soon forget.

Now I'm creating a conspiracy when according to the article the misidentified firefighter had more than ten minutes of issues. In an era when doxxing is a weapon for vigilantes, there's potential for serious harm.
"but prison is coming for a great many of you. And we the people won’t soon forget." I could say quite a bit about that to no avail.
I'm reminded of a cult I briefly joined at the behest of a DC environmental lawyer. The details are unimportant. The us versus them found in many groups of self identifying believers is.
So how do you heal deep division in the country?

I saw this on Saturday Night Live last night. It's from last month (I didn' see the episode), but it's pretty clever and shows what idiocy Trump and his followers are fomenting:
