Tell me again. Just what is the point of this head protection when most of the body is exposed? This movie took 'suspension of disbelief' way too far.

He was supposed to wear the mask due to burn scars on his face. Initially, the Lord Humongous was supposed to be Jim Goose from the first movie. That was scrapped (I think the actor couldn't do it), but many elements of the character stayed-including the fact that many of the gang seem to have been cops.

Don't forget. That's Australia. They've got a much better fashion sense in 2021 than was predicted in the Mad Max movies...
