I'd be more inclined to get vaccinated because the governor's dog asked me to....

than I would be to turn down the vaccine because some aged, has-been rock-and-roll guitar player said it was bad for me.

I was at Lowes yesterday. Since CDC guidance changed, they have 'allowed' vaccinated shoppers to go maskless.

Despite this, I still wear a mask. It costs nothing and might give me a few percent reduction in risk. It's a zero risk bet with only upside.

At one point I counted customers who had no mask. Of the first 50 random people I encountered in the aisles, not counting children, 37 were maskless. That's 75%.

According to this website Kentuckians are 38.5% vaccinated. Louisville is more liberal than most of the state so possibly has a higher rate. And this one count is clearly not a scientific survey.

But I suspect that there are a lot of cheats out there.

Do you remember when your fearless president chicken shit was going to seize control of the states and throw the governors into prison camps if the COVID-19 vaccine was not available to everyone by May? Well, he didn’t say he was going imprison the governors, but the chief coward did say he could back it up, so what else could the son of a bitch have meant other than the use of force. However, now he refuses to put pressure on any individual to take the vaccine, and there are all kinds of things he could do through executive orders. What a fucking coward.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

No, I don't remember that. Do you have a source for your information?

What could Biden do by Executive Order to force people to be vaccinated?

The federal government has control of air travel; no one flies without proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Use your imagination.

The Hitler want to be a son of bitch doesn’t have that power, no president does. I repeat the state governments do not work for the federal governments; they work for the people of their state.

Biden will direct states to make all adults eligible for Covid vaccine by May 1

The last time I flew anywhere was July 2000 ... and someone else paid for the ticket.  Before that, it was Feb 1998 ... and again, it was on someone else's dime (the result of winning a trip to NYC for the NBA All-Star game).

Charles Lindbergh, in his solo flight across the Atlantic back in 1927, logged more hours in the air than I have logged in my entire lifetime ... and that even includes the time I flew right-seat in a Piper Aztec-D from LSE to SDF and back for my Eagle Scout career day.

There are ways of getting around that does not require one to stuff oneself into a jet-propelled aluminum tube with wings on it.  So, lib, find a different example.

Are you telling me there is nothing the federal government can do to encourage people to get the vaccine? The federal government can require its employees to attend covid-19 awareness classes designed to humiliate them for not being vaccinated. Failure to get vaccinated demonstrates a lack of leadership, making the employees less likely to be promoted. Being vaccinated could be a work requirement for all new workers.

Having realized that he cannot support the narrative that the federal government will be "forcing" anyone to be vaccinated, the village idiot moves the goalposts to talk about "encouragement" and "awareness".

Biden is a coward who can’t lead. But, since we can’t depend on him, perhaps more private sector leaders will do what has to be done. I understand some companies and universities are requiring people in their originations to be vaccinated. If the selfish assholes don’t like the requirement, let them sue.

You need to lose that MAGA hat ... or at least loosen the cinch strap on it.

Trump didn't exactly display any courage either, and his name will never appear when they finally write books about "Great Leaders of the 21st Century".  He was basically a petty little tyrant who was able to keep his position only through the fact that he had a sufficient number of lick-spittle lackeys who couldn't think for themselves who would rise up in lockstep to approve anything he said or did — or to quash anything that opposed or offended him or tried to force him to observe the oath of office that he wiped his ass with.

Take heart, Lib.

Your hero is going to return....
Why Mike Lindell Thinks Donald Trump Will Return as President in August
BY EWAN PALMER ON 6/3/21 AT 9:45 AM EDT

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is continuing to push the claim that Donald Trump will return as president in August, saying there is a "clear path" for him back to the White House.

Lindell told Steve Bannon's War Room: Pandemic show that his lawyers confirmed to him that there is a route via Supreme Court rulings, as well as "two other bonus pathways" resulting from the disputed and partisan audit in Arizona and a similar recount called for by GOP lawmakers in Pennsylvania.

"They're gonna all come crumbling down like a house of cards," Lindell said, repeating Trump supporters' hopes that any proof of election fraud in Arizona—which has still not been found after several weeks—will result in a Domino effect that will change the outcome of the entire election.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

That'd be a hard myPillow to swallow

Cobbler, stick to your last.

Lindell's company makes a tolerably good pillow.  I've got one I was given as a promo item at a casino giveaway a year or so ago. I figured, "waste not, want not", so I fluffed it up and used it.   I never would have bought one for myself — personally, I think they're way overpriced, but I also think $1000 or more for a cellphone is out of line too — but for a freebie, it's OK.

He should stick to what he knows ... the pillow business.  If he wants to donate money to a misguided scam artist, well, I ain't his daddy and it is, after all his money.  But just because he's got more money than good sense doesn't miraculously give him some sudden political insight or mean that for some reason his pronouncements and observations now carry some sort of unusual gravitas.  He should just shut his pie-hole and leave the campaign and conspiracy theories to others.

First it was a lottery to win $1m in Ohio. Then another lottery was set up in West Virginia.

In Illinois people could get free tickets to the Six Flags amusement park.

In New Jersey it meant a free beer.

The governor of Minnesota announced giveaways that included fishing licenses, gift cards and state park permits, among others.

And West Virginia upped the ante, adding the chance to win hunting rifles or shotguns.

Governors across the country are resorting to almost shameless incentives to lure Americans who haven’t gotten a coronavirus vaccine to willingly take a jab. And a few folks who have entered in these raffles have come away winning prizes – even $1m.

It’s partially a move of necessity. There are still Americans who are either actively refraining from getting a Covid-19 vaccine or just haven’t got round to it yet.

Businesses, too, have stepped in to nudge the unvaccinated. The percentage of a state’s population that has been vaccinated varies dramatically. Some states are approaching 70%, and others are still below 50%.

So governors have had to get creative. On Thursday, Governor Jay Inslee of Washington state announced a “shot of a lifetime” state lottery for getting a vaccine, with prizes including a lottery for $2m, game systems and speakers, and “higher education tuition and expense assistance”.

In New Jersey, the governor, in partnership with the state’s department of health, set up a “shot and a beer” incentive program, which lets any New Jerseyan of legal drinking age who gets their first vaccine shot in May to also enjoy a free beer through breweries participating in the program.

That sort of approach got a shoutout from Joe Biden on Wednesday when he announced a month of action to reach the goal of vaccinating 70% of US adults by the Fourth of July holiday, with the president nodding to a beer-maker’s proposed giveaway by saying: “That’s right, get a shot and have a beer. Free beer for everyone 21 years and over to celebrate independence from the virus.”

The White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, echoed this on Thursday at the daily briefing.

“Free beer – that seems to be very appealing to the public, it seems, by [the] headlines,” Psaki said.

I know the two words, but I don’t care what motivates people to get vaccinated. I don’t care if it is an appeal to what Jesus would do, a gun to the head, or a free visit to a whore house. I want this thing over with before the virus has a chance to mutate into something more deadly.
