Staff members in the UK were asked if they would describe themselves as non-racist, anti-racist or none/neither in the questionnaire, written by a four-person strong working group and sent to 1,800 employees.
Along with the questions - which also ask participants to state their ethnicity - the survey states that 'all echelons of power, to some degree, exist to serve whiteness (whether by legacy, the presence of neo-colonialism or cultural imperialism)'.
It also states racism is 'a power construct created by white nations for the benefit of white people'.
Some 88 per cent of Oxfam staff in Britain are white.
Another added: 'Surely the time and money should be better spent on the real findings that some of the men they employ are sexual predators?'
Earlier this month, Oxfam sacked three workers after an investigation into claims its staff used prostitutes, issued death threats and committed fraud in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Allegations were also upheld against a fourth individual who had been suspended during the investigation and whose contract with Oxfam expired before the end of the disciplinary process.
The charity said the claims that had been found to be true following an external investigation included sexual misconduct by two members of staff and nepotism by three.
One worker was found to have engaged in bullying and intimidation, while another had an 'inappropriate relationship' and failed to 'manage conflicts of interest'.
Oxfam said that a number of further claims were investigated but 'were not substantiated' but did not specify which these were.

If you're white, you're wrong

Re: If you're white, you're wrong
So, what is wrong with investigating inaprpriate behavior and dismissing people when it is found to be substantiated? I personally think a company usually has any business in regulating with their employees' private behavior (like visiting prostitutes), but charities which depend on the public view of the business and its employees for their donations, are sometimes and exception. And bullying/iniimidation is always serious and should be dealt with if substantiated. The charity said the claims that had been found to be true following an external investigation included sexual misconduct by two members of staff and nepotism by three.

Re: If you're white, you're wrong
Probably the cognitive dissonance between the first sentence and the rest.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: If you're white, you're wrong
Perhaps; I have seen a lot of surveys in my life, but never recall one "stating" anything, except maybe presenting a statement and asking if I agree with it or not.
Re: If you're white, you're wrong
The mind boggling think about racism can only be “white” BS is it totally excuses all non white racism including things like the Armenian genocide, the abuses of the Koreans by Japan and many others.
It may be fair to describe racism as a function of the ruling ethnic power structure against minorities in the system. (I would still argue that definition is limited but it would at least reflect a true reading of what I would refer to as “systemic racism”). The idea that racism is only white not only denies reality and serves to excuse actions of any non white racism.

Re: If you're white, you're wrong
My view is that this is what is generally referred to as "racism", the subjugation of the racial/ethnic majority against the racial/ethnic minority. Hell, sometimes the majority has to invent a new racial classification to achieve this; the jews were generally just as white as their nazi oppressors, so the nazis invented new racial classifications for them. So, in most western countries, I don't think it i inappropriate to define it as something imposed by the whites (in power) against minorities to perpetuate their hold on power. Racism is more than just an asinine hated of those of another race; it is a definite scheme to subjugate another race(s), and that does require power.I would still argue that definition is limited but it would at least reflect a true reading of what I would refer to as “systemic racism”
Re: If you're white, you're wrong
But the majority does not always wield power as has been the case in many colonial situations. That does not make thier policies any less racist.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: If you're white, you're wrong
Yes, sometimes what is called the "minority" may well be the majority in numbers, but is never the majority within the power structure. And you are right, those in power often use racism to retain that power and achieve their ends.
Re: If you're white, you're wrong
It also states racism is 'a power construct created by white nations for the benefit of white people'.
Ignorant hogwash. Racism is a construct created by nearly every culturral or ethnic group to advantage themselves versus others.
Chinese vs everyone else, Japanese versus everyone else, Serbs versus Croats, Tigrayans versus Oromo, Saudis versus "guest workers", Koreans vs, Chinese and Japanese, Burmese Buddhists vs Rohingya,
It is not solely or principally a European sin it is a human sin distributed as widely as greed, sloth, envy, wrathfulness &c.

Re: If you're white, you're wrong
When I in college many decades ago, there was a 'hot' theory about social change that was identified as: Vilfredo Pareto’s Circulation of Elite.
It was actually about 50 years old then, but it was becoming fashionable in socio-political scholarship. The idea was that every society had an elite group that tried to keep power within over generations. To be successfully adaptable to changing conditions with time there must be mechanism(s) that permitted a small number of the elites to be removed and a few newcomers allowed in. Such mechanisms were always difficult and controversial. If the elites were successful in keeping others out, the society as a whole would ossify and collapse before pressure from outside societies.
I think we are seeing that theory acted out in the USofA today. Oprah Winfrey and Barak Obama are tolerated by the elite, but there is no way the black society of Tulsa OK 50 years ago will form again in these times. I strongly suspect Obama's grandchildren will be very middle-class, not participating overtly in the power structure of the nation. I believe Winfrey is not even close to starting a dynasty. While The Donald is trying very hard to do just that and the elite is working to choke his family off.
