I have a younger brother--retired engineer; younger sister--retired librarian. Both with undergraduate degrees from respectable mid-Western universities. Both full-on believers in the universe as Trump describes it now, even when todays' description conflicts with his description yesterday.
I notice they have similar handicaps. They cannot comprehend the first word of Critical Race Theory. They have limited utility for reading ANYTHING critically. Yet my sister complains that when ever she tries to talk about politics or current events people look at her as if she is stupid.
Perhaps she is not stupid. She certainly is ignorant. No way any data that is not in full conformity to her existing opinions will ever get beyond her eardrums or eyeballs.
I don't speak with my brother about anything. Long since decided it was a waste of time.
And let's not forget injecting disinfectant and shining a light up our asses.
Honestly, even if a person took a month’s vacation from internet access they’d miss a lot trying to catch up here.
Are you using a new image hosting service Scooter? Or is there a new primary source from which you’re posting images - maybe Facebook? Anyway the vast majority of your image links are broken within a few short weeks of posting them - maybe just days, who knows.
Perhaps this is of no consequence to you, but just an FYI in case you care about the longevity of your contributions here.

Just guessing but I'm pretty sure Scooter's expired images are from Facebook because the few missing images I checked include "fbcdn.net" in the URL, which means it is a Facebook link. If you 'left click' on the word 'Image' in Scooter's post and drag it to the address bar, it changes into a long Facebook address and your browser will show in small letters - "URL signature expired".
With some non-Facebook images, when you click on the word 'Image' that is showing where the photo should be and drag it to the address bar the missing image will appear. I have no idea how any of that works. I only discovered it by accident. Anyway, I did a little research and discovered that Facebook uses some type of 'Time Stamp' with images that expire after a while. I don't know if they all have the same length of availability.
I'm sorry if it annoys people that the images are not preserved for posterity. Frankly most of the time I find the process to attach them instead (save to my computer...open in Paint or other program to manipulate it...reduce in size...save...try to attach...discover that it is still too big...reduce again...save...try to attach...still too big....rinse and repeat ad infinitum...) too bothersome to deal with.

I use Imgur. It's free, a bit like Photobucket used to be.
Open an Imgur account.
Hit the 'New Post' button.
Drag or copy your image to the box. You can copy a screenshot to there.
Click on the image within Imgur.
Edit (if you want). First, crop if you have to. It's intuitive. Apply and save. I always make it 700 wide. The height will automatically adjust to maintain the aspect ratio.
Get share links.
Copy the BBC code.
Copy it here.
Done.
Pic of a random tennis player from the Wimbledon site. Took me about five seconds.
What you're saying, in effect, is that you're too lazy to correctly do something. So when (not if) your posts become even more meaningless than they already are, the rest of us can just bite it.
And as ex-kA just pointed out, there are other, even easier ways to do it. -"BB"-
Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
If you save it to your computer (your virus program will alert you if that’s not safe), then all you have to do is go to the bottom of the post editor page here and click ‘attachment,’ then choose the file from your computer/phone, then choose small medium or large and voila! Image preserved on Plan B.

Actually choose attachment, then add files, then select source (on my iPhone it’s photo library), then choose actual size (usually too large), or small/medium/large, then it uploads then you click ‘place inline’ and voila it’s in your post.
Like this lovely shot of my wonderful Riley in her most relaxed sleeping pose.
It IS a little bit of work. If you don’t want to, it is what it is. But I will say of all the posters still posting here, I am most saddened when your stuff goes AWOL Scooter - I very much enjoy your perspective.

I don't see the functions you are talking about. When I click "Add files" on the Attachments tab, it opens an Explorer Window where I browse to and select the file that I want; as soon as I do that Plan B tells me "File too large".

Andy I tried the Imgur method, I think it will become more automatic as I use it more, thanks. I used to use Photobucket the same way, for sites that for whatever reason didn't allow images to be posted on other sites (IMDB is famous for this).

I get the same result as Scooter. If there was an automatic image shrinker, that would be great. Imgbb is another simple to use image linking tool that I have used. I think it's even easier than imgur. Anyway, there are ways to preserve images for a longer period but maybe not everybody cares. Maybe Scooter is a Be Here Now kinda guy.
To each his/her/their/whatever own...
Note to Scooter: This is a cross-post. I hadn't seen your Imgur photo when I wrote the above.

I certainly couldn't be arsed where you are concerned.
Actually, I take that back, here is something just for you:

I don't think it is just a lack of intelligence. I think a lot of the hard right are saying "it is a class/race war and we are going to win". More of us on the left need to take this seriously and arm ourselves. You are saying they are unintelligent because their goals are not your goals.
Perhaps, but then the republican party hardly represents the interests of its rank and file defenders; they really don't give much of a shit about working class whites and their policies are crafted to protect only the very wealthy. I think it's a mark of a lack of intelligence that they remain blind to that fact. I do agree that the dems have done a piss poor job of reaching out to the working class whites who used to be a big part of their support, but their joining up with the republicans makes very little sense.
