No means I am a racist
No means I am a racist
Hubby and I wanted pizza from a local mom and pop place. They don't specialize in pizza but they make the best in town. We had doggy with us so I stayed in the suv while hubby went in to order the pizza. While waiting in the suv I was browsing on my phone. I was approached by a teenager, a young person of color. He was selling something. I was pretty engrossed in my reading when I heard him next to me outside my window. I glanced up and said "no" and before I could say, "sorry I don't have any cash", he yelled at me, "RACIST!" Wow. I have to wonder who is teaching him, at this crucial age, that telling him no is racist. This is something that a kid is not likely to have come up with on his own without being taught or overhearing from someone else.

Re: No means I am a racist
It's the perfect answer. Once you accuse anyone white of racism, they are in the wrong, no matter if they are in the right, or the relevance of racism to the accusation.

Or it's a case of what one kid says not having any particular significance beyond the incident in question.

Re: No means I am a racist
But of equal importance is the issue of, "where did he pick that up?" I was raised a racist and know exactly what the point of origin is. It is just as wrong and just as damaging to the betterment of race relations as is his issue.
Re: No means I am a racist
Sound to me like he was trying to manipulate you with an accusation of racism. Hopefully, you didn’t submit to it. If you had, I would have to lower my admiration for you. If one gives in to manipulation, one is an emotional slave. I give money to people on the streets that look to me as if they might need it. But any attempt to try and manipulate or intimidate me will be met with failure; I don’t care how much they may scream racism.TPFKA@W wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 3:05 pmHubby and I wanted pizza from a local mom and pop place. Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Add a little bit of killer, and you wouldn’t be too far off.

Re: No means I am a racist
I was picturing you more like this:

Re: No means I am a racist
I commented on a discussion on housing problems in Cornwall, stating that; "with the population of the UK increasing by approx 284,000 pa, which is half the population of Cornwall each and every year, we are always going to need more houses built to keep up with demand."
Someone replied; "you're being racist"
Someone replied; "you're being racist"
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: No means I am a racist
Was there an explanation as to how you were being racist?Gob wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 6:32 amI commented on a discussion on housing problems in Cornwall, stating that; "with the population of the UK increasing by approx 284,000 pa, which is half the population of Cornwall each and every year, we are always going to need more houses built to keep up with demand."

Re: No means I am a racist
There was a long, quite vituperative, reply, explaining to the nincompoop how it was not....
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: No means I am a racist
Perhaps they interpreted your comment as blaming (mainly non-white) newcomers for the housing shortage. It wasn't what you meant, but it wasn't completely out of left field.Gob wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 6:32 amI commented on a discussion on housing problems in Cornwall, stating that; "with the population of the UK increasing by approx 284,000 pa, which is half the population of Cornwall each and every year, we are always going to need more houses built to keep up with demand."

Re: No means I am a racist
Oh totally that yes. But it's the hard of thinking's go to response these days. "Call racism, win the debate"
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: No means I am a racist
It is the equivalent of pointing at someone and screaming, "WITCH!" or "HERETIC!"
Treat Gaza like Carthage.
Re: No means I am a racist
Unlike witches, racists actually do exist, regardless of how big a fit they pitch trying to deny it when called on it.

That's what they said about witches.
