Rule #3 β DON'T OPEN ANY ATTACHMENT OR CLICK ANY LINK CONTAINED IN THE EMAIL.

You might also check the header as to the email address of the person or company sending it to you.Β Β Unless it has a domain name that ends in Amazon, or PayPal, or whatever institution is supposedly sending you this email, you can be 99 and 44/100% certain that it's as fake as a fourteen-dollar bill and nothing bad is going to happen if you send it straight to the trash folder.
Then don't forget to empty the trash.... What ain't there can't possibly hurt you.

The only time I view an email that I know or suspect is spam, I put it into the trash before opening it. In the trash folder - at least in my yahoo email - links are inactivated so you can't click on one accidentally.
Anyway, this was a very well done phishing email. It's the first one I've ever gotten that included advice telling me that I shouldn't have opened it.
