I don't follow NJ politics so I don't know why you are "getting pretty sick and tired of Murphy" - you may have excellent reasons for that. But we need a lot more of that from everyone including those Rs such as McConnell and Graham who seem to be in favor of vaccination.

Just read a story about an 11 month old baby girl in Houston who needs an ICU bed because she’s critical with covid19, and she had to be airlifted to a hospital 150 miles away because there are no pediatric ICU beds open in the entire Houston area.

For those of you unaware, Houston is probably the largest capacity of medical beds of any city on the planet - certainly any city in this country - there are numerous hospitals and medical schools and something like 19,000+ beds and they are running out of space because they are overrun by unvaccinated COVID19 patients.

They’re also offering ~$25,000 signing bonuses for short term nurses to come and help them survive this surge.

Andy--there are a lot of reasons why I'm sick and tired of Murphy (they could fill another thread), and his use of the term "knucklehead" is just an extra one that annoys me. But I agree that the anti-vaccine people should be taken on.

And, FWIW, it's not like his opponent this year is someone I'd care to vote for, which makes it even worse.

Does that woman behind him have a cat on a lead?

I don't think I have ever wished harm on anyone, not even my worst enemy. Not even Donald Trump.

But I might make an exception for Marjorie Taylor Greene.

She has been exhorting an Alabama crowd, congratulating them on their low rate of vaccination, and encouraging them to greet Joe Biden's vaccination police - who will, apparently, be knocking on your door demanding phone numbers and SSNs and god knows what else - with guns.

I would like Ms Green to have a prolonged and painful and ultimately non-lethal dose of COVID-19. Enough to put the shits up her and those TFIs who think she's wonderful. For the greater good of public health protection, it's a sacrifice I am prepared to make.

From Huffpost

Ex-Newsmax host who attacked “lying freak” Dr Fauci over ‘Scademic’ has died of COVID

Get vaccinated, Dick Farrel told friends before he died.

Former Newsmax host and right-wing Florida radio commentator Dick Farrel — who mocked vaccines, the “scamdemic” and “lying freak” Dr. Anthony Fauci — has died of COVID-19.

A very different Farrel, 65, told friends to get vaccinated, as he struggled with the virus. He died Wednesday, WPTV reported.

“COVID took one of my best friends! RIP Dick Farrel. He is the reason I took the shot,” Farrel’s close friend Amy Leigh Hair wrote on Facebook. “He texted me and told me to ‘Get it!’ He told me this virus is no joke and he said, ‘I wish I had gotten it!’”

Farrel’s partner, Kit Farley, said on Facebook that he was “known as the other Rush Limbaugh. With a heavy heart, I can only say this was so unexpected. He will be missed.”

Lee Strasser, former market general manager for CBS Radio West Palm Beach who hired Farrel in the 1990s, called him “flamboyant, outrageous at times, and willing to take on any and all comers.”

Farrel — a right-wing shock-talk pioneer born Farrel Austin Levitt in Queens — was a fervent Donald Trump supporter who railed about COVID-19.

In early July, he called the vaccine “Bull Shid” in a Facebook post. Later he wrote: “Why take a vax promoted by people who lied 2u all along about masks?” He claimed Democrats were plotting to make it seem like the pandemic was ongoing as part of a power grab. He called COVID-19 a “scamdemic.”

Hair told NBC affiliate WPTV: “I was one of one the people like him who didn’t trust the vaccine. I trusted my immune system. I just became more afraid of getting COVID-19 than I was of any possible side effects of the vaccine. I’m glad I got vaccinated.”

Florida broke the record for the most new COVID-19 cases in a day on Friday — 23,900 — for the third time in the week.

My brain is in meltdown. I'm going to write a sentence I never thought I could write.

Lib: I agree with everything you just said in your post.

Do you blame Trump in any way for the mass reluctance to get the vaccine? (Hint: yes.)
You better watch talk like that; you don't want to lose your liberal credentials. You could be branded a racist and end up in a concentration camp.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

In case anyone is ever in doubt about where the Daily Mail readers stand. I go there because I want to see what people think, not because I want to see a Kardashian 'flaunting her curves' in a bikini.

They had a piece yesterday about how Fauci is 'flip-flopping' on his coronavirus advice. Of course Andrew from Louisville felt compelled to respond in the comments with predictable results. See the up and down votes. I don't think it's a record for me but 8.6 : 1 is not to be scoffed at.

Just for the record, I heard yesterday from one of my nieces that the 33 yr old unvaccinated husband of her friend, an active and healthy guy, caught the COVID virus and died within a month.
