We haven't done a Slate news quiz for a while

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: We haven't done a Slate news quiz for a while
Well actually it was me who started the Slate news quiz thread - but whatever, I’m used to not getting credit for my good works.
(And yes, LJ often posted it on the weeks I neglected to - he deserves honorable mention.)
7/12 for 330 strawberry pop tarts. My score is evidence that my efforts to avoid the news cycle have been somewhat successful.

9/12 and 372 Grape Nuts for me, because Kelloggs workers are on strike.

8 out of 12 for 351 free nights in a UK quarantine flea-pit of Boris's choice
ETA: does one lose points for taking the time to read the information given about each answer (right or wrong)?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Each question is timed so you lose points by reading slowly, but after you answer and it has added information, that part isn’t timed - timer restarts when you start the next question.MajGenl.Meade wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 5:39 am8 out of 12 for 351 free nights in a UK quarantine flea-pit of Boris's choice

Quiz complete!
You answered 10 out of 12 questions correctly and received 440 points.
I should have had 11. I absolutely knew which movie house was being rented out. I just clicked the wrong one.

11/12, 515 Devin Nunes cows. Back to the news every morning and evening, after a long break.

I got six correct and five of those were guesses. I'm pretty sure they gave me more difficult questions than the rest of you had.

9 of 12 for 387 points.
I forgot speed counted and took a couple of seconds to think one or two of them over, so while I probably got them correct because I took the time, it cost me enough points that still ended up sucking hind tit as far as score went.

The link takes me to the quiz page, but the button that says ‘start the quiz’ doesn’t work.

10/12 for 451, (I actually knew the answer to one of the two I got wrong but clicked too soon while moving the cursor. Bah!)
