Now it is at the NYT site my streak and stats have all gone. Which is weird since I have a NYT subscription including games (I do the crossword every day) so you would think that if it's a paywall thing, I would be OK. They do have occasional problems which you would think that if they figured it out once, it would be done for all time. There is a column for regular crossword solvers with a link every day to that day's piece. Every now and then the link does not work so people complain. Part of the NYT charm I suppose.

Are you saying your stats have been reset to zero or that they aren't showing? Mine still pop up after I've solved the puzzle and show when I click on this - I'm not a NYT subscriber but it's still working for now since it changed to the NYT site.

No stats and I seems to have no recollection that I have been there already today. So I can do things like this:
Wordle 238 1/6

What is amusing is that it recalls that I set it to the color blind colors a week or two ago. Teething problems I suppose.

Re: WORDLE – The Internet's Newest Favorite Game
That's funny. It's like you've entered into a zone where Wordle has forgotten you exist. If it continues working that way, you might want to try finding a website where you can bet people you will beat their scores...

You go into private browsing?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: WORDLE – The Internet's Newest Favorite Game
It won’t know you if you’re using private browsing- my stats aren’t fully correct because I logged in a couple of times from a different IP, at clients’ homes. But logged in from home on the usual link I access, all my stats are still there but the Wordle at the top of the page is in NYT font now.

Got lucky. Thought better of my 4th guess which gave me a good clue.

One of my wrong guesses I didn't even know was a word, but it led me to the right one. In fact the word is so obscure that doing a google search of the definition doesn't even bring up the word in the first several pages of results.

Maybe tomorrow you can tell us what that word was (I say wait until tomorrow so it doesn't act as a possible spoiler for people who haven't yet done today's puzzle yet).datsunaholic wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 8:41 amOne of my wrong guesses I didn't even know was a word, but it led me to the right one. CNN)An Illinois woman held hostage in her home was rescued after her daughter noticed she had not sent her Wordle score and alerted local authorities.
The woman, 80-year-old Denyse Holt, told CNN affiliate WBBM that a naked man entered her Lincolnwood home, dragged her around the house, disconnected phone lines, and eventually barricaded her into a bathroom, where she stayed for about 17 hours.
"I didn't think I was going to live," she told the station.

I don’t see this game catching on. How many people know the shapes of other countries by heart, beyond a few which are very readily recognizable?
