Three goes seems to be the standard?
Once again, the failure to get the first word in 3 (or less) dooms all

— those bloody loan-words again! 
It's an apt summary <-- Too many possibilities, I tried the odds and lost. <-- Ended up being a word I thought was eliminated.⓮ Many were called but Phew was chosen another phew⓮ 
THAT could have gone on for longer! Oh well - much waste in there <-- Another case of having to burn a guess due to having (at least) 3 possible answers and only 2 guesses left. Fortunately, there was a couple words with all 3 of the possible 1st letters in it, so it drew it out. — I've gotta quit waiting until the fifth guess to solve the first word... ◄ great ... first letter missing, and there's at least five that will fit ◄ but I got hella lucky! ◄ with only one vowel remaining and knowing the first letter, this wasn't as much of a long shot as it looks like ◄ Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Didn't notice I already had the first letter but out of place and wasted a guess. Well somebody had to pay for BB's luck. "At least five" was it? I found the other 4 Poot This did not help <-- Yep. 6 possible words with this combo. 2 are eliminated (this one, and I'd used one letter in the previous guess) <-- Luck there, had a 1 in 4 chance. <-- That looks daunting, but I actually only had to figure out the second letter. <-- Avoid the trap...
