Having onwe of those days

Post by Crackpot »

well after soloing with the son for the last couple days today subsequently turning my brain to mush from sleep deprivation and attempted code breaking. (that cry/whine means what? you're tired? you're certainly yawning enough. But you refuse to go to sleep!! You won't eat you're not wet for the love of god what do you need!!)

I come in to work today (just in time) start working on the job that takes the computer a couple minutes of thinking between clicks.

Get tea listen to music...

Get soda... realize I still have a bit of almost cold tea and a soked tebag left in my cup. attempt to drain teabag of excess liquid before tossing it in the trash. Make a mess of myself.

guzzle last of tea. open soda.

resume music.

get up to do something pll the earbuds from my ears earbud unfailingly finds its way into my teacup which as always still moist enough to get earbud soggy. in rush to grab out earbud I knock over soda.

Make mess of myself once again.

Send Job to wrong boss for checking. Catch crap for that.

Clock stops from 1:30 to 2:30.

speeds up till 3:30 clock breaks again.

Go to the bathroom and take a leak. Button breaks. Of all the days not to wear a belt.

4:30 can't come soon enough but then again at that point I pick up my son and solo till the morning.

Anyone care to take odds on him allowing me a nap when I get home?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

LMAO ...I'm not laffing at you, but with you; I've been having a pretty sucky, bad luck two weeks, myself. Although, mine were spread out over days, rather than happening all at once; among the highlights:

Two flat tires - one in a brand new tube!

Finally, spending the cash on a solid-core/no-inner-tube tire, that can never go flat, and finding out they feel like you have a constant flat. They're mushy, they drag and you feel like you're pulling an anchor behind you. Getting used to the extra effort of pedaling this putty, made me late for work all WEEK - got a stern talking to.

Was supposed to have three days vacation in San Diego to see Alpha Dog; which fortunately I got in writing from the HR lady ...or else my manager wouldn't have believed me, because my days off hadn't been posted to 'the system' in the computer. I'd been wondering why no one seemed care that I'd be gone, so I stopped my manager and told him I was going on vacation. He causally asked, when? Tomorrow, I said. "TOMORROW!? But you're not in the system!"
He tried to show me the blank calendar days on the screen, in defiance of the signed approval form I had in my hand.

So, as a gesture of my loyalty to the company, (...and to keep them from being any more pissed about my being late) I said I'd come in tomorrow for a bit during the day, but I HAD to fly out that evening.

Would up staying all day, and by the time I left, my flight was leaving in three hours. That was just enough time to panic.
Went flying down the road a little recklessly, really putting the pedal to the putty <puff-puff>, and I wasn't going to stop for anything! Then my phone (on vibrate) went bzzz-bzzz-bzzz. I was not going to answer that; I had to git home, shower and pack, whoever that was would have to leave a message. They did, voicemail went bzzzt. A minute later, my phone went bzzz-bzzz-bzzz. Wha'tha? No.... they'd have to wait. Voicemail went bzzzt. Then I got a text, bzzzt.
They sure were being persis...BZZZZ-BZZZ-BZZZZ!!!
Dammmit, this had better be an emergency!
Clicking open the phone, I gasped that all the calls and text were from Alpha Dog!!!
Oh poop, his flight to San Diego had been canceled and he wouldn't be in, until tomorrow night; all that panicking for nothing. Plus, we were going to lose a day of visiting to boot. :arg

Returned home, to find out I'm (still) a criminal. Apparently, I hadn't paid all the fines incurred by losing my car in '09. So, the city is asking for money, I don't have - wonderful.

You have NO CHANCE whatsoever.

Babies have an innate ability to know when you are at your weakest and they use that against you.

Does Junior Crackers fall asleep when being driven or cuddled? If so, then drive or cuddle him.

If I were you, I would give him a big quiet cuddle and see if he will also drop off to sleep with you. You may not like sleeping with him, but your need for sleep is greater than your need to sleep alone.

Bubs never like sleeping solo.
Bah!

Oh, if you opt for trying to bore him to sleep with a cuddle, make sure you do LOTS of yawning and deep steady breathing (with your eyes closed obviously).

The Hatch was a sucker for deep breathing to put her to sleep when she was a spud.
Bah!

When Pud was that age I could always get him to sleep by holding good eye contact and then doing the deep breathing, eyes slowly closing thing. Within a couple of minutes he'd be copying me and within 5 he was out like a light.

Driving worked wonders too... still does in fact...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

I've heard (haven't tried myself) that if you can't drive them anywhere, strap them in the car seat anywayZ, and set them on top of the dryer while it's running.

Inside the dryer (set to "low heat") works well, also.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Babies are very interesting little creatures. They are much smarter than we give them credit for. Take heart because later, when the are older, it gets to be your turn to mess with their minds. My favorite, with all four of my kids, was the fact that most of my pics of me as a child were in black and white. When I was about 12 we began using color film soooooooooo I convinced them that is when color was invented. :ok :nana
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

I forgot to mention my most comic moment of bad luck-

To treat myself, in the face of all this adversity, I'd found a large-size Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha™ on sale at Safeway™! Image 'At least, I could have some good coffee',
I thought. 'Now, I just have to sneak it into work.'
See: at the shop as well as taking away our radios, we were not to have snacks, sodas or anything else but water, out on the floor ...but I deserved this mocha, dammit! And, I was gonna have it!

I thought of stashing it in my tool box, but that was only accessible behind me; what was more easily available to hide things in was: my trash can. It sat, unassuming, right under my weld table, and no one would think to look there for goodies. So, sneaking one quick sip, I thought I was so clever as I started my welding work day.

Not long after, I'd been under the hood for a bit and I reached for my buried treasure... only to find my trash can had been emptied, and my stash looted.

Wha ...? No!

This wasn't trash day was it? It was.
Questioning the wetback who acts as janitor, where did the garbage go?
He said, he'd dumped in the dumpster; and to top it off the waste truck had already come and gone, ~wah~

Bugger. The Hatch was shocking in that way as well. I sympathize with you deeply.

I have to admit considering weve been in the 60s and 70s lately the snow came as a bit of a surprise.

Mother Nature does that to mess with you.

That way you end up dressing little Crackers in the wrong clothes and everything goes pear-shaped again.

Spring is soooo fickle...
