I hope this is true....
sourceTrump reportedly 'livid,' 'screaming' after subpar GOP midterms results
Former President Donald Trump is reportedly "livid," "furious" and "screaming at everyone" after Republican candidates — especially his endorsees — underperformed expectations in Tuesday night's midterm elections.
In Pennsylvania, Dr. Mehmet Oz was defeated by Lt. Gov. John Fetterman in the race for a Senate seat, while state Sen. Doug Mastriano got blown out by Attorney General Josh Shapiro in the governor's race. Prominent Trump endorsees in other states — Herschel Walker, Blake Masters and Kari Lake — were all losing their races as of Wednesday morning. Trump's one endorsee in a competitive state who won — J.D. Vance — thanked dozens of people in his victory speech, but made no mention of the former president.
Longtime Trump reporters CNN's Jim Acosta and the New York Times' Maggie Haberman both offered a glimpse into Trump's state of mind Wednesday morning.
"'Trump is livid' and 'screaming at everyone,' after last night’s disappointing midterm results for GOP, according to a Trump adviser," Acosta tweeted. "The adviser went on to slam the former president’s handpicked contenders: 'they were all bad candidates.' 'Candidates matter,' the adviser said."
"Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz -- including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him," tweeted Haberman.
Both reporters said that Trump is now facing pressure from Republicans to postpone his "big" Nov. 15 announcement, which is widely expected to the launch of his third presidential bid. Despite the pressure, Haberman and Acosta reported that it's unlikely Trump would delay because "it's too humiliating" and "would be acknowledging he’s wounded by yesterday."

Well, I'm sure we can all agree that it's not her worst decision, either."Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz -- including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him," tweeted Haberman.

Great one, Sue!
I suppose we can take some comfort from the fact that, well, it wasn't as bad as some of us feared and not as bad as it could have been. But having de Santis gaining traction for 2024 at the possible expense of Trump is, to me, like saying I would rather fall out of a 10th floor window than from the 12th floor. If offered the choice I suppose I would take it: but I'm really not sure why it would make a difference.
And in one sense it might be worse: de Santis has at least the reputation of marginal ability to get things done in accordance with his worldview, while Trump's saving grace might just be his total incompetence.

That's what scares me as well. But maybe he could split the MAGA republican primary vote if Trump runs as well, and we could get a more rational republican candidate. As we all know, Florida is a special place and not necessarily representative of the country as a whole; that's why Florida Man exists, and that's why people vacation there. In the wake of the election, the national media are all fawning over DeSantis and shining him up as a "winner" for the GOP, because in the horse-race press that's all that matters. My hope is that DeSantis is peaking early, and the more people get to know him -- and what a vapid stuntman and culture-war profiteer he actually is -- the more they see how empty his suit really is.

How about this: Biden bows out and endorses a team of rivals, Harris/Cheney 2024?

Trumpty Dumpty promised a wall
Trumpty Dumpty did nothing at all
All his adoring conspiratorial men
Now hope to see him in the White House again
But Trumpty Dumpty is losing his touch
He thinks very little and speaks very much
And then he melts down and attempts to explain
That the media lies and he's the only one sane
So Trumpty Dumpty keeps speaking his mind
Because a voice in his head says he's King of Mankind
While he turns his back to the poor, brown and black,
Asians, Middle Easterners and others he'll attack
Yes, Trumpty Dumpty once promised it all
Closed borders, more oil and buildings so tall
With Trump's name in gold hanging high as the clouds
Cheered for by those goofy red MAGA hat crowds
Trumpty Dumpty gave us a wall
It separates the country but it's starting to fall
If you care for this country and the freedom within
Just leave Trumpty Dumpty in those pieces he's in.

What are you afraid of; are you afraid that the right-wingers are going to set up concentration camps for liberals? The left is more likely to do that than moderate and right-thinking Americans. I refer you to the left-wing regimes of communist Russia, China, and Cambodia. Or are you going to say that they were not leftists like liberals? That's bull crap, and you know it.Big RR wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 2:25 pmThat's what scares me as well. I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.
Re: Campaign 2022 is ALMOST over....
You might as well wish for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; that will not happen. If Biden is alive in 2024, he will run for president. Don't you understand almost all politicians are the same; very seldom do you get a man like Ronald Reagan, who put the mission above all else. Reagan was out to get the communists, and he did it, and he didn't care who got the credit for it. It wasn't Charlie Wilson's war; it was Ronald Reagan's war, and you all hated him for it.
Reagan once said a man can get a lot done if he doesn't care who gets the credit.
I didn't have the time to look it up, so I used no quotation marks above.

You had time to type crap. Could have invested all of the 1 minute it took me to Google the origin - a Jesuit priest in 1863 - and the numerous times it's been used since. Reagan's presidential site has the quote as being one he found on a plaque in the White House. Also attributed to Harry Truman (Democrat) though no evidence has ever been found.
Oh and . . . credit where it's due:
A liberal - who knew? With access to thousands of pages of Soviet records, oral histories and memoirs, we now know that the confrontational approach that defined Reagan’s first few years in office had very little, if any, impact on Soviet strategic decision making. In fact, the antagonism of Reagan’s early presidency likely prolonged the Cold War by elevating hard line, anti-American voices over those of moderate reformers like Gorbachev.
Reagan’s true Cold War legacy is rooted in his deeply personal diplomatic engagement with Gorbachev. Reagan’s embrace of Gorbachev and praise for his reforms gave the Soviet leader the latitude to enact the political and social changes – perestroika, glasnost, demokratizatsiya – that ultimately caused the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Indeed, Reagan foreshadowed all of this in early 1984, writing in his diary: “If we opened [the Soviet Union] up a bit, their leading citizens would get braver about proposing changes in their system.”
PS I don't have time to identify the source. Google it
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Will Biden find his marbles by 2024?

If Biden does find his marbles (and I hope he does) he will retire to Rehobeth and spend more time on his bicycle, and attending Delaware parades.

No, that is not what I am afraid of; and FWIW, I can give you a list just as long of right wing dictatorships that did the same thing--often with our covert, or even open help because "We had to contain communism" and (paraphrasing Barry Goldwater, we figured extremism is fine, after all we're defending "liberty" (a bit silly (to say the least) when you long at the record of the regime. The left and right have their share of dangerous assholes who would be happy to crack down on the people they disagree with. What are you afraid of; are you afraid th they at the right-wingers are going to set up concentration camps for liberals? No, what I am afraid (really more concerned, not afraid, because I think the people won't put up with it for long) of is that we will reverse a lot of the progress we made in the last few decades--and revert back to a xenophobic brutal society which ignores the science behind climate change, oppresses immigrants, leaves seniors on their own without much social security or medicare (lest we become another Greece)... And a guy like DeSantis (someone who could ship people to Cape Cod and laugh about it--just to whip up his supporters) is just the guy to start us down that road. Concentration camps? No, I didn't think so (unless you're an unwanted immigrant), but hardly where I want to see this country going.

Concentrate camps were a tool used to suppress the local population of Dutch Farmers - who had in turn suppressed the native population - in 1890s era South Africa. Britain in those days was led by the well known commie, The Marquess of Salisbury.
They were if course most famously adopted by that other lib, Herr Hitler.
As Meade says: "The left and right have their share of dangerous assholes who would be happy to crack down on the people they disagree with." True, dat.

Now you did it, we'll have to hear how the Nazis where the National Socialist party, ignoring how they came intopower in art to supress and contain the influence communists/socailists/liberals had on national policy.that other lib, Herr Hitler.
