I honestly don't think I could ever live on an island; at least one that didn't have a causeway or bridge that allows for easy exit to the mainland. I'd just feel trapped.

You have to learn to sail or have a fishing boat but sailing is best since fuel is mostly free & clean.

Why don't they market cat food in flavors more in keeping with the cats' original tendencies as a predator ... like 'field mouse', 'small mammal', or 'wild bird', instead of 'liver', 'tuna', 'chicken', or 'dairy'?

Bill--I once recall seeing a cat food can (Friskies, I think) labeled Mouse flavor on a store shelf (I checked and it did not say the food contained any mouse, just flavor); I imagine there are others (although I don't see cat foods much as I do not have a cat). My guess is that the could not just capture and use field mice (because of the regulation of ingredients of pet food) and raising mice or food would likely be more expensive that just using the human food products/byproducts they use. If cats eat chicken and liver, why incur additional expense?

But mice breed quickly and cheaply; maybe you have uncovered a new business; do you think we could also raise Fed Ex and UPS carriers for dog food?
