Oh, it will be a shitstorm even worse than his last administration, but I am hoping he will not listen to those who know better how to achieve their goals; and I am hoping he is a big enough ass to keep it up for 4 years. It will be 4 years of yelling and accusing others of blocking his mandate, but we won't see that much real change. Congress could change it, but the republican house majority is not great and the Senate is still below the 60 votes; add to that Trump's penchant to piss people off, and I don't see much getting done. Trump won't do the bidding of his handlers thew way W did (and I think W did a lot more lasting damage to the country), and so the lasting changes will not occur. He could still screw with the judiciary, but time will tell on that.

But what does scare me is Vance stepping into the presidency in a year or two--he is a lot smarter and more politically adept than Trump and could. do some real damage. All it would take is a better placed bullet of some sort of poisoning and I think we would be in deep shit.

If a bunch of rag-tag terrorists could plan and pull off the hijacking of four airliners and then use them to destroy two huge buildings and damage a third, I don't think it would be all that difficult for a dedicated group of 'freedom fighters' to coordinate simultaneous operations to assassinate both the POTUS and the Veep, even if they are kept apart from one another to avoid the possibility of a single bomb or gunman being able to take down the two of them.

Not that I'm espousing or condoning such action, mind you!

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Perhaps, but we haven't seen anything even coming close to that sort of an assassination yet. And even then we'll get the Speaker of the House, and who knows who that will be.

I see this whole thing like an episode of the old Adam West Batman series, in which Cesar Romero as The Joker gets himself elected mayor of Gotham City and appoints The Penguin, The Riddler, Catwoman, et al. to head its departments in order to eradicate Batman and loot the city.
Ya been reading my FB posts again? I just couldn't see Trump as the Joker - had to be Burgess Meredith
The Penguin chooses The Joker to run Justice:
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, told reporters, "I think we have to consider any nominee by the president seriously, but we also have a constitutional responsibility." He was prompted about whether the House Ethics investigation currently being conducted into Gaetz would factor in to his confirmation, to which the senator replied: "That might come up."

That looks like a Mad Magazine cover.

It should also say, "What Me Worry?"

This is not satire.

I just read the article and am puzzled as to what you're taking offense to - unless it is his mention of the ongoing controversy over Israel's policy toward the West Bank?

The article in general discusses a real and massive issue facing all nations on earth - what will we do in the face of continued exponential population growth and mass migration related to effects of climate change and political instability.

I admit I have a migraine today, what am I missing?

It's not the best written article I've ever read and he just ends with no conclusion but aren't the basic issues he's presenting relatively correct?

The use of the term Lebensraum (living space), which the Nazis used to justify the displacement (extermination, in the case of Jews) of the peoples inhabiting the conquered territories of Eastern Europe, is particularly despicable coming from the mouth of an Israeli trying to justify why Israel has a right to the West Bank.
