The world is ending - time for some new luggage

Post by Scooter »

According to these geniuses:
WE CAN KNOW from the Bible alone that the date of the rapture of believers will take place on May 21, 2011 and that God will destroy this world on October 21, 2011.
If the rapture does indeed take place 19 days from now, consider yourselves all invited to my place for an End of the World Party beginning on the evening of October 20, and continuing as long into October 21 as we all have left.

So when exactly was the "abomination that causes desolation" Or the myriad of other things that must have happened in the past 6.5 years in order for this to be true?

Oh well
I guess no one will be there for my sons dedicaton ceremony on the 22nd
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Oh that's a pity - I'll already have a prior engagement

Seriously, those folks are . . . surely deluded?

Yes, but they are not quite the same these days...

High profile news reports of economic downturns, crime, wars, tsunamis, earthquakes, and disease outbreaks cause people to question whether God is bringing judgment on the world.
God is part of the MOTU?

World ending? It's not luggage you need, it's a shipping container. And it just so happens...
Police in Taiwan are investigating a self-proclaimed prophet whose doomsday warnings on a blog have caused panic.

The man, identifying himself as Teacher Wang, said Taiwan would be struck by a magnitude-14 earthquake and 170m (560ft) high tsunami on 11 May.

More than 100 cargo containers have been bought and set up in a mountainous area of central Taiwan.

Police said they were investigating if the blogger had conspired with a container business to defraud people.

"Teacher Wang" suggested people live in such containers to survive the disaster, which he said would kill millions of people and split the island in half.

Taiwan's famous Taipei 101 skyscraper and the Presidential Office building would be toppled, he warned.

More than 100 cargo containers have been discovered in the town of Puli, Nantou county.

Workers had been hired to fit them with doors, windows and air conditioning, says the BBC's Cindy Sui in Taipei.

The containers cost about $5,500 (£3,300) each, once water and electricity are included, our correspondent adds.

THe sad thing is I've heard there are families working on the whole "you can't take it with you" theory and running themselves (kids and all) to ruin come the 22nd.

I envy their faith but I mourn that it is so misplaced.

On a lighter note I brought this up to the Pator of the Church I'm joining. (the rapture thing not the soon to be starving and homelss children thing)
His reply:

the 21st? I hope not that's the day of our big community outreach program. I don't think it would look good if we up and dissappeared in the middle of a free oil change.

The REAL qustion would be....

Does the oil WANT TO CHANGE?

Oil repentance, anyone?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
