So is this socialism or communism? Perhaps Liberty can explain it to me.
Headlines from the NY Time today:
"$10 Billion and Counting: Trump Administration Snaps Up Stakes in Private Firms
The Trump administration is trading billions of dollars of taxpayer money for ownership stakes in companies. The unusual practice shows no sign of slowing."
So this is what the spirits of Ronnie Raygun and Barry Goldwater have produced. No matter. The price of eggs has gone down.

Neither. It's Dirigism.
Death is Nature's way of telling you to slow down.

Po-tay-to/Po-tah-to
Face it, when the government owns and/or controls the means of production it's--"if it walks like a duck...", no matter what you call it. And when you have an ass like Trump at the helm it's totalitarianism--but a "stable genius' can handle the strain.

I don't know what this means for the Tangerine Mussolini but . . .
https://www.livemint.com/companies/news ... 77066.htmlIn August, the Department of Commerce became the largest shareholder in US chips giant Intel. NYT cited a public filing which showed that after the government deal, Donald Trump personally purchased around $1-5 million of Intel's corporate debt.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I guess he figures the government has too much invested to permit it to fail or fall into bankruptcy, so he has a virtual guarantee of payment.
Re: Socialism or Communism
Socialism is an economic system in which the government owns, operates, or controls segments of the economy, such as Social Security in our country, which I approve of. State communism, on the other hand, was, and still is to some extent, a totalitarian form of socialism. I do not consider present‑day China to be a communist system; they more closely resemble Nazi Germany in the 1930s, though not in all aspects, of course.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.
