It’s all over the media and the Facebook today, and I’m seeing SO many comments from people saying we never went to the moon in the first place.

I really wish I had grasped in my youth how common stupidity really is. My early decades would have been so much easier to bear had I known it.

Realizing it this last decade has just been a kick in the teeth.

Send me to the moon and let me grow old there, please!

I agree. Although I've always suspected it, it took access to the internet for me to realize that stupidity is universally rampant.

I got that enlightenment working as a retail store clerk. It is an amazing thing to face up to just how stupid the general public is, by definition half are less than 101 IQ. That is really bad. Looking back on it I realize my experience in the Army as a lower ranking enlisted was not typical of the general population. I was part of a group that the official systems had sorted out (combat engineers) to be untypical of the general population. I am pretty sure that there were few among us with an IQ below 120.

The information technology has removed many of the filters on information transmission. The implications of the old cartoon from New Yorker "On the internet, nobody knows you are a dog" Is revealed by the 'stable genius' we now have as president who is so proud to have 'aced' the cognitive test that is intended to sort out individuals who cannot be trusted to remember to turn off the stove or wipe their own butt. Surprise the Donald has not submitted a velvet paint-by-number picture in a gold frame to demonstrate his advanced artistic taste.

With one‑sixth of Earth’s gravity, I wonder how long a person could actually live on the Moon. Perhaps if someone exercised as vigorously as Arnold Schwarzenegger, they might be able to slow down bone loss, muscle atrophy, and heart complications.
