The redneck in me bought a big screen tv for the livingroom a few months ago. It makes watching sports more fun. Cold beer, fresh baked pizza and a hockey game. Now thats what I'm talking about......... :nana :D

Cardiff Blues gave their Magners League play-off hopes a boost with victory over Newport Gwent Dragons, who claimed a losing bonus point at Rodney Parade.

The game was marred by a dreadful ankle injury suffered by home full-back Martyn Thomas in the second-half.

Dragons prop Ben Castle claimed his side's try with James Arlidge kicking three penalties.

Blues' Ceri Sweeney scored a crucial try, Gavin Evans also touching down and Ben Blair's boot adding 10 points.

Victory gave the Blues their seventh successive away triumph as they became only the second team to win at the Dragons' home in the league this season.

The Dragons also remain in with a play-off chance, but their hopes are slim after this defeat.

Dragons 14-20 Cardiff Blues :D

Greeeeeeeeeeatttt game of rugby - one of the best this season and the banter was hilarious the crowd sang 'Where's yer buggy gone?' to Andy Powell when he came on   even better was when the Dragons fans who had been making donkey noises everytime Sweeny got the ball were suddenly silenced when he scored a try right between their posts *snigger* considering this wasn't our first team it was a fabulous performance by the Blues and Dragons lose nothing but points in defeat as they played very well indeed - but the better team won :D The Dragons lad who did his ankle in was very unlucky and he'll be gutted as he was likely to have been selected for the Wales squad for NZ as a development player and he's going to miss out on that now.

Next up London Wasps and we have a bit of an injury crisis after last nights game so it's going to be even tougher than it would have been with a fully fit squad fingers crossed that Richie Rees, Casey Laulala and Jamie Roberts haven't done anything too serious and can be fit to play.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D :D :D
Cardiff Blues will play Toulon in Marseille in the Amlin Challenge Cup final on 23 May after battling to a tense semi-final win over London Wasps.

The Welsh region out-scored their hosts two tries-to-nil, wing Leigh Halfpenny and prop Gethin Jenkins both crossing.

Dave Walder landed five penalties for the English side, three in the first half to help the hosts to a 9-8 lead.

But the Blues moved 18-12 up after Jenkins' try and Walder missed a late kick that would have meant extra-time.

While that was harsh on the fly-half who had been immaculate with the boot until that point, the Blues deserved victory if only for the outstanding individual display of captain Xavier Rush.

The number eight carried the ball on 24 occasions, taking the fight to Wasps in wet conditions after a deluge in the two hours before kick-off at Adams Park.

The hosts, unbeaten in their last 16 European matches at home, edged the opening 40 minutes largely thanks to a better kicking game and strong scrummage. **and a disallowed try for the Blues that was most definately a try and the ref didn't go to the TMO**

Absolutely fanbloodytastic! We beat Wasps!!! No Welsh professional side has ever won a European cup so the final is going to be one HELL of a game Dai's Bloos vs Chequebook Toulon Allez Le Blue!!

Ah you hadn't heard about Andy Powell and the golf buggy? ummm well after we beat Scotland in the 6 Nations it seems Andy had a couple of drinks and then fancied some chocolate so he borrowed a golf buggy from the team hotel and thought it was a good idea to nip over to Sarn services for a mars bar .... unfortunately for Andy the only way to reach said services was along the M4 ... in a golf buggy... at 4am ... the wrong way up the hard shoulder... at about 15 mph ... he was arrested for drunk driving, got a 15 month driving ban and was kicked out of the Welsh squad. Whilst what he did was undoubtedly stupid and dangerous it has rather tickled the funny bone of a lot of rugby supporters especially those who can play with photoshop... theres even a facebook page for the Andy Powell Golf Buggy Appreciation Society. Hence the crowd singing "where's your buggy gone?" to the tune of "where's your papa gone?" (Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyu ... prank.html

As for Sweeny he wasn't happy at Rodney Parade when he played for The Dragons he went through a bad patch being off his game and the fans turned on him he responded by saying a few things in the press about them being chav townies or somesuch, the dragons fans called him eyeore (he oughta .. learn to pass the ball ..kick better... tackle better etc) hence the donkey calls.

Local singing sensation Lucie Jones is hoping to give the Cardiff Blues the 'X Factor' ahead of their crucial game against Munster this Sunday. (May 9th)
In their last home game of the season, the Blues face the Irish side in a crunch play off deciding match for the Magners League.
Cardiff Blues supporter Lucie, from Pentyrch near Cardiff, amazed judges and viewers of last year's X Factor with her renditions of Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You'. She has since taken part in the UK-wide X Factor tour and signed a major modelling contract.

Lucie is now set to wow fans with a performance at the 27,000 seat Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday, ahead of kick off at 6.15pm.

Three teams have already qualified for the inaugural Magners League Play-Offs, Leinster, Ospreys and Glasgow Warriors, whilst three further teams, Munster, Cardiff Blues and Edinburgh are vying the fourth and final qualifying spot.

The atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday is set to be electric, with the popular Cardiff Blues supporters villages set up for the game. There, fans will have the chance to meet the players for autographs and pictures, as well as a host of other activities.

Sunday will also see the launch of a new Cardiff Blues family membership, with a special area in the family stand. There will also be special offers on the day for season ticket renewals.

Robert Norster, Chief Executive of the Cardiff Blues, said: "This is a crucial game for the team, and we're hoping fans will get behind Cardiff Blues for a winning evening at the Cardiff City Stadium. The Supporters' Village has been well received at previous games, and with everything that's happening here on the day, combined with the anticipation of the game, the atmosphere is set to be fantastic."
